Tenniel and Michael met while in the break kitchen at their work. Michael asked one of their co-workers (who was a bridesmaid on their wedding day!) about the likelihood of Tenniel dating him and her friend said 'no chance'. But she was wrong, and everyone is so happy that she was!
The two sweethearts got engaged on Michael's birthday in December of 2021, two months after he asked Tenniel's parents for their blessing. He popped the question on the rooftop of their Brooklyn apartment where they had lived together for two years. With a view of the Empire State Building behind them, Michael asked Tenniel to be his forever, and she said 'yes!'
Tenniel and Michael (who actually have already gotten married!) had such a beautiful celebration of their marriage at Bear Brook Valley in Fredon, New Jersey. This gorgeous venue has a rustic chic farmhouse look outside and in, with a bright, open and airy ballroom and lovely outdoor spaces accented with market string lights.
Yes, it rained a bit on their wedding day, but nothing would stop any of the romance and excitement of the day. Tenniel and Michael each got dressed and ready for their day in separate suites at the venue, with Tenniel and her bridal party having their hair and makeup done onsite by Makeup by Michele Eva. The beautiful bride then dressed into her gorgeous wedding gown with help from her mother. The low, scalloped neckline, slim silhouette and high slit were so fabulous!
Meanwhile, Michael and his groomsmen got into their tuxedos, with Michael standing apart from his wedding party in his very classic black pants and white jacket. He and his party looked so fantastic!
The two had a very sweet first look outside on the covered porch of their venue. Amber Dawn Photography captured the moment, along with the entire event, in photos for Tenniel and Michael and we absolutely loved working with Dawn and her team again.
As the ceremony began, Tenniel had a recorded message played for Michael. It was so sweet, and you could see how much he truly loved it. And we loved how Michael walked down the aisle with their beautiful baby daughter, and held her as Tenniel walked down the aisle with her parents. The two recited lovely personal vows that they wrote for their ceremony, exchanged rings and, with their daughter in their arms, received a blessing from Father John.
Tenniel and Michael's reception kicked off after their ceremony concluded there at Bear Brook Valley. Flickering candlelight and peach, blush and white floral centerpieces with those amazing feathery details from A Touch of Elegance lined the long tables in the reception space. And their four-tiered white textured wedding cake accented with peach and blush blooms looked delectable!
We heard such wonderful toasts from Tenniel's parents (who made everyone cry), from Michael's best men and from Tenniel's maid of honor. Then, all of Tenniel and Michael's guests danced the night away to the high energy music brought by Kaos Productions!
It was such an honor for us to be a part of capturing Tenniel and Michael's beautiful wedding day. We wish them continued love and happiness in all their years to come, and in the words of Tenniel's mother, to "dream big"!
