All Because of You // Robin + Eric

Robin met Eric very shortly after a breakup when her best friend convinced her to come to dinner for his high school reunion.  He assured her that she would know everyone there.  Half way through dinner, a man she had never met before came in.  This was Eric, and the only empty seat was (luckily!) next to Robin.  They had a wonderful conversation, but Robin left while Eric stepped away from the dinner.  He emerged outside only to see her being whisked away in a taxi.

However, the two did start to date and knew early on that they had each found “the one”.  One year to the day after their first encounter, Eric took Robin back to the place where they met. He made it seem like it was a happy accident that they ended up there and asked a stranger to take a photo of them in the place where they had met.  That’s when Eric got down on one knee and proposed to Robin!  He told her that even though she had left him standing on a corner alone the night they met, she must never leave him again.

That brings us to their glorious wedding day!  Robin and Eric were married on a lovely September evening at the Hempstead House at Sands Point Preserve in Sands Point, NY.  This amazing venue is situated on the North Shore of Long Island and enjoys a very interesting history.  The massive castle-like building was built by the son of railroad tycoon Jay Gould, and shortly afterwards became the home of Daniel and Florence Guggenheim.  The impressive 50,000 square foot mansion boasts many architectural features that epitomize the 1920s era in which it saw its heyday.  A grand foyer with a 60-foot-high vaulted ceiling, columns, cornices and gargoyles are just a few of the features still present in this jazz era jewel.

And speaking of a jewel, Robin was so dazzling in her glamorous wedding gown!  She wore a gorgeous fitted strapless gown with an embroidered corset bodice and a flared trumpet skirt.  This gown was not a standard wedding gown either… it was a custom-made gown by Inbal Dror which Robin flew to Israel to obtain!  And check out those strappy Gucci heels!  She looked so elegant and regal with her delicate headband, her hair pulled back in a classic updo.  Eric was a very dapper groom in his Jimmy Choo shoes and custom-made shawl-collared tux with white tie, the most formal of formal wear!

The two shared a special first look inside the mansion… one that they were sure to also share with their beloved dog, Lola!  We loved being there to film this tender moment.  Famed photographer, Joe Buissink, worked beside us to capture the day in photos for Robin and Eric.

After the Ketubah signing, the ceremony commenced outdoors with such gripping and inspirational singing by their hazan, Avi Perets, surrounded by the lovely rose gardens and fountains.  We loved watching the outpouring of emotion from both Robin and Eric as she walked down the aisle to meet him.  This is so often the most touching moment of the wedding event.  The significance of the day culminates with the vows and that first kiss as husband and wife.

Back inside the Hempstead House, a wonderful celebration of the happy couple followed at their reception.  Robin and Eric’s amazing first dance kicked off with a perfectly executed cartwheel by Eric!  The two had their dance coordinated to a tee as they and their guests enjoyed a sentimental version of “La Vie en Rose” by Louis Armstrong.  The guests celebrated by dancing the Hora and then continued to dance the night away with help from a myriad of musicians and entertainers.

Congratulations, Robin and Eric!  May the things that you loved about each other in the beginning be the glue that holds you together forever.
