Another New Year has arrived! And once again, we're looking forward to seeing what our couples have planned for their upcoming weddings. In perusing the net, we see that there's quite a few exciting new concepts, and yet a lot of returning trends anticipated for weddings in 2026. Here's just a little sampling of what we should see soon in wedding themes, color palettes, floral designs and fashion trends!

Maximalism

Abundance is the word of choice with this trend. Couples are choosing everything, everywhere and all at once this year! Examples include dramatic bridal gowns heavy with embellishments and bright or bold, deep colors for bridal parties. Copious and extraordinary reception décor, tablescapes and textiles, luxurious and eye-catching floral centerpieces and fun, immersive theming will be found in every direction you look. Brides and grooms won't be holding back as they design their once-in-a-lifetime big day.

Bold Color Palettes

Eye-popping colors go right along with the intense and dramatic maximalist trend. Watercolor pastels and light neutrals will take a back seat this year, as bright violet, magenta, canary yellow, cobalt blue and cayenne red will be red hot. Deep, dark saturated color themes will thrive. We'll also see vibrant jewel tones that emulate the most gorgeous, opulent gems. And multiple-color palettes and mismatched, unique color pairings will surprise guests.

Avant-garde Florals

There'll be no missing stand-out floral centerpieces, accent arrangements and aisle décor this year. These non-traditional designs are true pieces of art, often featuring unanticipated elements like feathers, sticks, dried grasses, metals and less-common flower choices. Expect the unexpected with highly sculptural bouquets, hanging installations and table centerpieces.

Sleek and Modern Design

Couples that aren't embracing maximalism for their wedding event will instead be taking a more abstract approach to their design, with temperate choices that are just as breathtaking. Clean lines, monochromatic or black & white color palettes and chic, contemporary elements like stainless steel and geometric shapes will define modern venues such as museum galleries or converted warehouses. Also look for statement-makers like serpentine table arrangements, ceremony aisles and floor plans or dramatic, modern chuppahs or arches.

And 2026 Wedding Trends In Bridal Gowns...

Statement bows, 3D floral appliqués and drop waists will continue to reign on from their initial heyday beginning in 2023 and 2024. Classic ball gowns will also be the go-to silhouette for brides again this year. Designers such as Monique Lhullier, Elie Saab, Oscar de la Renta, Pnina Tornai and Sareh Nouri went for massive volume in their spring and fall 2026 collections, with sensational petticoats, pleats and tulle. And for something a bit newer, look for metallic and shimmering elements, such as metallic threads and sequins.
