We absolutely loved working with Katie and Peter! They’re so genuinely sweet and kindhearted. And their wedding was really so perfect… filled with many touching moments and lighthearted moments as well.
Katie and Peter had already known each other for ten years before they tied the knot. They met during a new student orientation at the University of Pennsylvania when Peter seemed to find any excuse to talk with Katie! Katie found it very easy to talk with him right away though and their relationship began to grow quickly.
We loved hearing about Peter’s proposal to Katie. He set up a scavenger hunt around New York City for Katie. The final destination was back at their apartment, where Peter had scattered rose petals waiting for Katie. He had the ring fastened around the neck of their beloved cat, Meeko, and he was to be called in when Peter had finished his speech.
But this hunt didn’t go without some hiccups! With morning preparations, his hunt started later than he anticipated, and Katie had already begun making plans with friends. Peter had to secretly text them to cancel. Then, Katie didn’t dress as warmly as she should have for the 40 degree weather. Also, Peter had to run out to buy the rose petals while she was on her hunt. Well, shops won’t sell just the petals, so Peter had to manually tear off the petals in their apartment, a task that took longer than he expected (at nearly three hours)! Finally, Peter couldn’t find string to attach the ring to Meeko’s neck, so he had to use dental floss! But luckily Meeko came running over with the ring on his neck, quite predictably when cat treat bags are shaken!
Katie and Peter’s wedding day was beautiful. The two prepared for their wedding at The Dwight D., a boutique hotel in center city Philadelphia. Katie’s bridesmaids wore matching, lovely knee length dresses in a deep shade of plum while Peter and his groomsmen wore traditional, classic black tuxedos.
Katie looked like a princess in her gorgeous wedding gown! Her dress was strapless and featured a beautiful mermaid silhouette, overflowing with tulle as it met the floor. She and Peter shared a touching (and playful!) first look at Shofuso Japanese Gardens inside Philadelphia’s Fairmount Park. The photography team at Wojtaszek Weddings was there with us to photograph this memorable moment, as well as formal photos and additional candid photos at the gardens. We enjoy working alongside Jeff Wojtaszek and his team so much and were thrilled to be with them at Katie and Peter’s wedding.
After photos and video were captured at Shofuso Japanese Gardens, it was time to head to The Horticulture Center in Fairmount Park for the ceremony. We loved the personal vows that Katie and Peter wrote for each other. They captured both their sentimental and their whimsical sides and reflected on how each complements the other perfectly. It was truly a delight to watch the two at the altar!
Once Katie and Peter were pronounced ‘husband and wife’, additional formal photos were taken at the reflecting pool. Then it was time to start the reception inside the ballroom! All of their reception toasts were also so well written and spoke so much about the couple. We loved how Katie’s father said that after ten years together, their marriage was “about time”!
TableArt did a fantastic job as always with the décor and the planning and organization of this special day. Everything went off without a hitch and looked amazing! Katie loves ice cream, so the couple ordered the Little Baby’s Ice Cream tricycle to be there to provide delightful treats for the guests, in addition to their incredible (and delicious) wedding cake from Sweet T’s Bakeshop. Be sure to check out their special cake topper, a miniature Meeko!
Katie and Peter danced their first dance and opened the dance floor to everyone. DJ Simon Tai from Remixologists rocked the house this evening and everyone had a ball dancing and celebrating the happy couple!
Congratulations to Katie and Peter! We wish you a lifetime filled with love, joy and laughter!
