We were thrilled the day Claire from Claire Bean Events called us to see if we were available for the wedding of her clients. She let us know that she was working with the sweetest couple who live in Chicago but were getting married in the Hamptons. (We had the pleasure of working with Claire when filming a wedding in the Hamptons in the past.) When we made contact with the couple, Sarah and Jeff, we knew we were in for a treat. Sarah and Jeff were such a joy to work with, truly as sweet as described, and their wedding day was unbelievable!
Their wedding day began at Sarah’s parents’ beautiful home in Bridgehampton, NY. Sarah’s bridesmaids arrived to help her finish getting ready (and have some fun!) while Jeff and his groomsmen soon arrived and prepared for the day, dressing in navy tuxedos for the event. Her beautiful bridesmaids wore coordinating long blush gowns, with the maids of honor, Sarah’s sisters’ gowns in a contrasting strapless design.
Once ready, Sarah made her way downstairs where her father was anxiously waiting to see her. It was such a heartwarming moment – to see the pride in her father’s face and to imagine the flood of emotions he was feeling upon his first look at Sarah in her wedding gown.
Before heading outside, we captured the moment they read aloud the cards they so lovingly wrote for each other. It was so sweet and touching to witness how overwhelmed with emotion – excitement and love – they both were. And speaking of touching, it was then time for them to share their first look. This is the moment the bride and groom see each other for the first time on their wedding day, all dressed and ready for the occasion, and wow, this first look didn’t disappoint! Jeff was practically speechless at the sight of his bride and Sarah was all smiles. We get choked up just thinking about it again!
Sarah was certainly a breathtaking bride! Her incredible wedding dress was a gorgeous gown filled with delicate lace appliqués, featuring a one-shoulder design and a perfect trumpet silhouette. For the ceremony, she wore a flowing cathedral veil attached to the back of her hair. And her white cascading floral bouquet filled with orchids was out of this world!
We continued to film while Whyman Studios took such wonderful photos of the first look and formal photos of the couple, family and bridal party.
A classic Ford arrived right on time to take Sarah and her father to the church, the Basilica Parish of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus & Mary in Southampton. To prove that the first look doesn’t spoil the moment the groom first sees his bride on the aisle, check out how overwhelmed Jeff was when Sarah first entered the church! It’s always such a special moment. The two shared in the traditional Catholic wedding ceremony and were pronounced husband and wife!
The vintage car whisked Sarah and Jeff from the church back to Sarah’s family home for their tented reception. They made their grand entrance to the cheers of their guests and had their first dance together as Mr. and Mrs. We were treated to such well written and well spoken toasts from Sarah’s sisters and Jeff’s brother and once dinner had been served, the dance party began! The band, 45 Riots was the real deal and totally rocked the house!
Everyone had a ball on the dance floor and in the unique photo booth, a converted classic VW bus! With their photo booth wigs still on, Sarah and Jeff cut their cake and toasted their parents and all their loved ones in attendance to share in this special occasion. Kudos to Claire Bean Events for their wonderful floral arrangements and décor and for a perfectly executed wedding event.
We enjoyed every moment of this amazing Hamptons wedding! As Jeff’s brother stated in his toast, “Marriage isn’t about finding someone you can live with, it’s finding someone you can’t live without.” And we’re sure Sarah and Jeff have each found the one.
