Bayside Romance // Caroline + Kevin

Caroline and Kevin met in a junior sailing program at Mantoloking Yacht Club ‘down the shore’ in New Jersey when they were just 12 and 13 years old. They were competitors at the time, but later became good friends and went on to attend the same high school and college. Their relationship developed over time, becoming a deep and lasting love. And what better place for Kevin to propose years later than on the same docks on the bay at Mantoloking Yacht Club where it all began?

On the very summer-like day of their October wedding, Caroline got ready at her parents’ home in Bay Head, New Jersey. With hair and makeup finalized by Top Knots by Aimee and Beauty on Location, Caroline dressed into her wedding gown. Her amazing wedding dress by Suzanne Neville had a dramatic plunging V-neckline and V-back detail, all-over embroidery and delicate 3D floral appliqués. It definitely had such an ethereal quality with its light and flowy skirt. Just beautiful! Before leaving for the church, Caroline attached a long, airy veil in the back of her hair. She was such a gorgeous bride!

Before the bridal party dressed into their lovely sage green gowns, they had a ball posing for photos in their adorable matching pajamas and toasting the bride and couple on their wedding day! Then, Caroline’s father had the chance to see his beautiful daughter for the first time in her wedding gown.

Meanwhile, Kevin was preparing for the day at his residence. The guys had a ton of fun as they got ready, too, saluting the groom and his bride with champagne and playing corn hole in the yard! Looking very handsome indeed, Kevin wore a fantastic gray with blue plaid custom suit with a light blue necktie. And as an extra special touch, he had their wedding date embroidered under the collar of his jacket.

The couple opened their gifts from each other and exchanged beautiful love notes that they had written. We love to see the emotions that just can’t be contained during this special time in the day! Then, it was time to leave their homes for the ceremony.

Caroline traveled to St. Catharine Church in Spring Lake, New Jersey in a fantastic antique car that belonged to her grandfather. Her parents also traveled on their wedding day in that same car! Kevin arrived in a classic car, too, and took his place at the end of the aisle to wait for his bride.

A lovely quartet played as the processional began and the wedding party walked down the aisle. The couple recited their traditional vows and were soon saying, “I do”!

Caroline and Kevin left in that amazing car and headed for a beautiful home in Mantoloking where a boat was waiting at the dock to transport them on to their reception.

But first, the couple and their wedding party enjoyed a photo shoot with the team at Jenelle Kappe Photography. It was wonderful to work with her and to see the group having so much fun!

It was off then to Bay Head Yacht Club! The clubhouse ballroom was decorated beautifully by Katydid Signature Floral & Event Design, with amazingly tall floral centerpieces filled with large white blooms on blue floral linen draped tables. The exposed ceiling beams were draped with gauzy white fabric and market string lights, adding even more romance to this nautical-themed venue.

Caroline and Kevin arrived by boat at the yacht club to the cheers of their family and friends! After they were introduced in the clubhouse, they danced their first, perfectly choreographed, dance on the dance floor, immediately followed by those sweet dances with their parents.

We heard such terrific toasts from Caroline’s maid of honor, from her father and from Kevin’s best man. You could really feel how much love and respect they have for them. All of the speeches were touching, and we absolutely loved how Caroline’s father said Caroline and Kevin are a great team that always works well together, and that “good things will happen.”

After dinner, the Joe Baracata Band really rocked that house! Guests stayed out on the dance floor all evening, laughing and dancing to the music! This wedding day was so fantastic, and kudos to Kathleen Deo for helping to plan and organize the event!

We can’t thank Caroline and Kevin enough for allowing us to share in their special day.
