Katelyn and Kevin met in high school and the two have been sweethearts ever since! It was easy for them to see that they had found ‘the one’, so marriage was naturally the next step in their relationship. Kevin’s thoughtful proposal one summer day took place right there at their home, where he had decorated the entire house and had one of their favorite songs already playing in the background. He asked Katelyn to be his wife and after she said, “yes”, Kevin had their family all waiting to celebrate with them!
Katelyn and Kevin’s wonderful wedding event took place entirely at Peconic Bay Yacht Club on Long Island… everything from their morning preparations to their fabulous reception. They chose the soft, beautiful color scheme of sage green, cream and blue for their palette, perfect for a lovely fall, waterside wedding day.
Katelyn got ready for the day in the bridal suite upstairs while Kevin and his groomsmen prepared mainly in a cozy downstairs wine cellar. Kevin and the guys dressed into a mixture of bright and darker blue suits with lovely sage ties that matched perfectly with the bridesmaids’ long dresses. Katelyn dressed, with help from her mother, into her stunning Vera Wang gown. It was an elegant, strapless silk crepe dress with a ruched, sweetheart neckline and a subtle fit and flare skirt. In the back of her hair, she wore a long, graceful lace-edged veil and she carried a beautiful bouquet overflowing with white blooms. Katelyn was such a beautiful bride!
Before it was time for their lovely waterside ceremony to begin, the two had a sweet first look outside at their venue and we were so happy to be there to film it for them. And it was also so fantastic to work with an amazing photography team, Denise and her assistant Josh, associates for Lauren Fair Photography, as they took professional wedding photos throughout the day.
Katelyn and Kevin’s marriage ceremony was held there on the lush, green lawn overlooking the Peconic Bay. Katelyn was escorted down the aisle on the arm of her mother and father to an eagerly awaiting Kevin. The couple stood under a beautiful floral arch and, after a wonderfully personalized message, said their ‘I do’s’ each other and exchanged rings. It was now official!
Back inside the Peconic Bay Yacht Club, Katelyn and Kevin’s reception kicked off in the whitewashed, light filled ballroom, with its wall-to-wall, ceiling-height windows framing that amazing view. Scarsella’s Flowers had the room decorated beautifully with lush floral centerpieces in blush, apricot and white, rustic bark candle holders, floating candles and more.
Katelyn and Kevin were announced as the newest ‘Mr. & Mrs.’, then danced their special first dance together. After guests enjoyed some time on the dance floor too, we heard the wonderful toasts from Kevin’s best man, his brother, and from Katelyn’s man of honor, her brother as well. Both were filled with funny quips and heartfelt, touching sentiments too. With Katelyn’s mother by his side, her father also delivered a beautiful speech where he welcomed Kevin to the family with kind words and admiration, described how proud he is of his daughter and offered sage advice and well-wishes for the newlyweds.
Dancing continued well into the evening, as guests had a total blast on the dance floor thanks to the hip sounds of Ready in 10! Then, after their cake cutting, Katelyn and Kevin had touching dances with their parents. And when the reception ended, the party wasn’t over! An after-party was held in the lower level for guests who weren’t ready to say good night just yet!
This truly was such a wonderful day! We loved visiting this gorgeous location and this exceptional venue, and most of all, being able to work with such a super sweet couple. To echo the words of their officiant, Steven, we’re wishing Katelyn and Kevin a wonderful life filled with love, laughter and joy!
