Sunset and Seaview // Maddie + John

Maddie and John held their amazing wedding event at the place where John proposed, the beautiful beach at Cape May!

The weather was simply outstanding for a wedding on this sunny, fall day.  That morning, John and his groomsmen got ready for the big day at The White Cottage, a beachy rental right next to their reception venue.  They wore classic black tuxedos the the event, but sported those apropos bright beach umbrella socks to add a fun touch to their traditional attire!  Before he tied his bow tie and put on his jacket, John read the card that Maddie wrote for him.  You could see that he was quite overwhelmed with emotion as he read his love note from Maddie… and the same was true for Maddie as well.

Meanwhile, Maddie prepared for the wedding day at their reception venue, the gorgeous and historic Congress Hall.  After having her hair and makeup done and reading her touching love note, she put on her wedding dress with help from her mother and sister, her maid of honor.  Maddie’s dress was a gorgeous silk strapless gown from Monique Lhuillier with a stunning elongated waist and full trumpet skirt.  She looked absolutely incredible!  Maddie wore her lovely long hair down in waves, and in it fastened a dazzling brooch and a fingertip length veil for the ceremony.  And once she was all dressed and ready to go, Maddie had a sweet first look with with her father before they left for the church.

Maddie and John’s marriage ceremony took place at Our Lady Star of the Sea in Cape May.  And we loved how emotional John became when he saw his bride for the first time as she walked down the aisle on the arm of her father.  Watching John tear up, it was hard for anyone to keep a dry eye!  Father Joseph Wallace officiated their traditional Catholic ceremony and after reciting their vows and exchanging rings, the two were pronounced ‘husband and wife’!

After their ceremony, Maddie and John left the church via golf cart, then their photo session took place outside on the lawn of Congress Hall by Rachel and her team at Rachel Pearlman Photography.  It was so terrific to work with them on this very special day and we really enjoyed filming as the bridal party, family and couple posed for their beautiful wedding photos.

Their reception was then held on the Grand Lawn at Congress Hall under an impressive white Sperry tent, with lanterns and beautiful flowers leading the way to the entrance.  The space inside was decorated exquisitely with floating candles and an abundance of amazing floral centerpieces in blush and white by Sebesta Design.  Maddie and John entered the tent and danced their first perfectly choreographed dance together.

The blessing was given, then we were treated to such a wonderful welcome speech by Maddie’s father as he expressed his love and admiration for both Maddie and John and welcomed him into their family.  Toasts that were both funny and touching were given by Maddie’s sister and by John’s brother and best man.

After some dancing and dinner, the sweet parent dances were held on the dance floor.  And then thanks to the high energy sounds of BVT Live!’s Jellyroll, dancing continued well into the evening, with the dance floor packed so tightly the whole time!  The newlyweds and their guests even enjoyed doing the limbo during the party!  Before the evening was over, a cigar bar was set up on the lawn and nearby, a Mister Softee ice cream truck began serving treats to guests.  Kudos to The Styled Bride for helping to plan and coordinate such a perfect wedding event, one with something for everyone!

To end this wonderful evening, Maddie and John’s bridal party and family prepared an exciting sparkler salute to the couple as they exited the tent, ready to begin their new life together as husband and wife.  We congratulate and wish all the best in life to Maddie and John!
