Invisible String // Shannon + Scott

We were so blessed to have such a gorgeous, sunny day for this Cape May wedding event! And what a complete pleasure it was to film, as this wedding, with its location playing such an important role in the couple's lives, was so wonderful in every single way.

Shannon and Scott met via a dating app, then had their first date in Washington, DC. And we loved hearing about Scott's proposal... Scott wanted to be sure all of Shannon's siblings were there for the day he 'popped the question', so he planned it for the week between the Christmas and New Year's holidays while they visited her parents in Florida. On the morning of December 29th, Scott asked Shannon to go for a walk on the beach, and there he asked her to be his forever. Shannon said that she didn't know it was coming, and secrets are hard to keep from her!

Shannon got ready for her day at The White Cottage, a fantastic Victorian rental in Cape May. Taffeta Salon & Spa perfected everyone's makeup, then Shannon's mother and sisters helped her get dressed into her gorgeous wedding gown. Her chic and classic dress had a lovely A-line silhouette and such a graceful square neckline highlighted by generous shoulder straps. She was absolutely stunning!

And in a home nearby, Scott got dressed into his sharp black tuxedo. His father helped him with his cuff links, bow tie and jacket and his mother made sure everything was straight! He looked so fantastic! Once they were ready, his groomsmen left for the church in a jitney while Scott's brother-in-law went with him to see Shannon before their ceremony was set to begin.

The couple had a very emotional first look outside near The White Cottage. Then, a formal photo shoot took place before it was time for the ceremony. We loved filming the couple as photos were taken by Courtney Linden Photography. And you could see that Shannon and Scott loved every minute, too!

Shannon and Scott's ceremony then took place nearby at Our Lady Star of the Sea. Shannon's parents walked her down the aisle to meet Scott, and they had a beautiful, traditional wedding ceremony. Soon they were kissing for the first time as husband and wife!

The bride and groom took a bright white Moke from the ceremony to their reception, held at the exquisite and historic Congress Hall. Cape May Flower Co. decorated the space so beautifully with abundant floral table centerpieces in white. And flickering candlelight in tall hurricane glass candle holders added to the romance.

After an additional photo shoot onsite, Shannon and Scott entered the ballroom at Congress Hall and danced their first dance together, and the first dance of the evening. After inviting everyone to join them on that classic black and white dance floor, guests took their seats for the wonderful toasts to come. We heard fantastic speeches from Scott's brother and from Shannon's three sisters. We especially loved how Meagan reflected on the song "Invisible String" and how Shannon and Scott were always tied together in Cape May. And Michael's loving words about Shannon and Scott were so touching.

Then, those parent dances took the spotlight, as Shannon danced with her father and Scott with his mother. There was also a little pause in the reception's dancing just for the couple as lovely sunset photos were captured on this fabulous spring evening. Truly, everything on Shannon and Scott's wedding day was simply perfect, thanks in part to the careful planning of Kristin Barse at Bel Momento Weddings.

The party and dancing continued well into the night as The Craig Scott Band totally rocked the house (as they always do)! It was a fabulous party that we know everyone will fondly remember.

We thank them for having us be a part of capturing their day forever in their films, and wish a lifetime filled with joy, success and love to Shannon and Scott! Congratulations!
