I Love You the Most // Lucy + Chase

We had such a terrific time filming this amazing wedding day!  And it was our first time traveling down to this beautiful historic location, The Cavalier Hotel in Virginia Beach!  This impressive boutique hotel has such an exciting history, incredible ocean views and a pristine lawn that’s just perfect for outdoor events.  But what we loved even more was getting to know and celebrate this special day with the couple of honor, Lucy and Chase!

Lucy and Chase met each other the way most couples do today, online!  Chase had been in the Navy in Virginia for about 12 years, and Lucy had moved to the area more recently.  They had their first date together, then met up later with a few of Lucy’s friends.  They both had a great time, Chase hit it off with everyone that night and he called Lucy the very next day.  They’ve been inseparable since then!

On the wedding morning, Lucy got ready at the hotel where she would later be celebrating her reception.  As she had her hair and makeup done, she wore a lovely white robe with a beautiful lace detail.  Her bridal party wore matching pastel floral robes as they got ready, then changed into long, mismatched gowns in soft shades of blush.

Chase prepared for the day at their home with his groomsmen by his side.  We loved how the guys coordinated their outfits, some in blue jackets, khakis and pink ties and others wearing their military uniform or a black tux.   Chase dressed into his Full Dress Blue Naval uniform, of course, for this very special, formal occasion, and he looked so handsome!

After hair and makeup, Lucy put on her gorgeous Carolina Herrera wedding gown.  It had a strapless design that featured a floral embroidered ballgown silhouette and an amazing tiered skirt.  She accessorized with brilliant pearls, a long veil in the back of her hair and white, strappy shoes with a fantastic bow!  She looked absolutely stunning!

Once everyone was dressed to the nines, we ventured to St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Virginia Beach for Lucy and Chase’s traditional ceremony.  Chase saw his bride for the first time that day as Lucy walked down the aisle to meet him on the arm of her father.  Their beautiful ceremony included the highly symbolic Orthodox traditions of the ring exchange, the Crowning Service and the ceremonial walk around the table.

After their marriage ceremony, we were happy to capture a portion of their photo shoot on the lawn at their reception site.  Lucy, Chase and their bridal party all had such a fun time posing for traditional, and some very artistic, shots for the cameras of the talented team at Morgan Malicki Photography.  They even participated in the traditional military Arch of Swords before heading to the tent!

Lucy and Chase’s reception kicked off under a large, white tent at The Cavalier Hotel that was filled with lush and gorgeous flower arrangements and an amazing string-lighted ceiling.  The couple entered to the cheers of their guests and skipped the traditional first dance that often follows.  Instead, Lucy sang a beautiful song just for Chase (which you can hear in their film!).

Following her lovely ballad, Chase shared a heartfelt dance with his mother, then Lucy toasted her parents with a beautiful speech, praising them and thanking them for their support and love.  We were then treated to wonderful toasts from Lucy’s parents and from several members of the bridal party.  We loved them all, and laughed so much during the speech from Lucy’s matron of honor, her sister, when she described Lucy’s loyalty!

DJ Ty Street then played the tunes that got the dancers out and kept them out on that floor!  The same is said for Lucy’s band, Calamity Jane, who performed at the reception too!  Lucy even joined in for a few songs!  We loved their rousing rendition of the “Devil Went Down to Georgia” (check out their official video on their website!).  They had such an energetic crowd!  What a fun wedding event, put together perfectly with the expert help of Jamie Leigh Events!

This was a beautiful day not only to honor Lucy and Chase and their new marriage, but also to recognize and appreciate the special connection shared by family and friends.  It was so wonderful to have them all here together to celebrate and support Lucy and Chase.  Their wedding was so unique, so one-of-a-kind, and one that everyone will remember for years to come.  Congratulations and all our best wishes to Lucy and Chase!
