True Love // Bridget + Thomas

We were so thrilled that we were available for this wedding when Claire Bean reached out to us to inquire about filming an event back up in New York. The months slowly ticked by and when the day finally arrived, we were a bit nervous about the inclement weather forecast. But thankfully it rained really just a bit in the morning for Bridget and Thomas's highly anticipated and absolutely fantastic wedding day.

Everything about this beautiful wedding event took place in the lovely coastal city of Rye, New York. We filmed Bridget and Thomas's fun (and so touching at times, too) rehearsal dinner at the impeccable Shenorock Shore Club the evening before the wedding, where family and friends all gathered to chat, eat and toast the bride and groom.

And the following morning was the big day! Bridget got ready for her wedding at her family home in Rye. With help from her mother, Bridget dressed into her elegant and graceful modern gown with its deep-V neckline and classic princess silhouette. The delicate buttons in the back were so very pretty. Bridget looked so incredibly stunning! And her father's touching first look at his daughter dressed for her wedding day was priceless.

Bridget's beautiful bridal party changed out of their cute matching pajamas and into their mismatched gowns in shades of solid blue and in a blue floral motif. The blues and the flower patterns were absolutely perfect for this coastal location wedding event.

Meanwhile, Thomas got ready with his best man and groomsmen nearby at The Apawamis Club. All dressed up in his classic black tuxedo, complete with those fantastic monogrammed cuff links, Thomas looked very handsome indeed. The guys made sure to enjoy a beer and toast to the groom before traveling to the church, while Thomas headed over for his first look at his bride.

Bridget and Thomas shared an emotional first look in the gorgeous manicured gardens next to their reception venue. We loved how Thomas especially, could hardly hold back tears at the sight of his bride. They both had such genuine, sweet reactions.

Scott Clark and his team were there to take those formal and candid photos of Bridget and Thomas and their wedding party and it was such a pleasure to work with him and his team. Their photo shoot after the first look was so romantic. Be sure to see some of his photos on instagram!

Then it was time to head to Rye Presbyterian Church for the ceremony. Thomas was all smiles as Bridget walked down the aisle on the arm of her father to meet up with him at the altar. The couple had a beautiful, traditional ceremony in the historic, stone gothic style church, with the homily given so personal and so powerful. They recited their vows and exchanged rings before their loved ones, and were declared as 'husband and wife'.

The two traveled via vintage Mercedes to their reception venue, Manursing Island Club, with its amazing and wonderful Long Island Sound waterfront views. And the view inside was incredible, too! Raymond Felton Designs trimmed the breathtaking glass-ceiling tent space with beautiful hydrangea blooms and floral arrangements in lovely shades of blue and ivory.

Bridget and Thomas entered the reception room at the conclusion of the introductions and danced their sweet first dance. Then the dance floor opened for everyone for a bit before dinner and those wonderful toasts. Guests returned to their seats to hear Bridget's father give a terrific welcome speech where he thanked everyone, shared cute stories about the couple, imparted wonderful advice for marriage and affirmed his heartfelt love for Bridget and Thomas.

We then heard wonderful toasts from truly natural speakers, Bridget's maid of honor, her sister, and from Thomas's older brother, his best man. After some additional photos were taken just as the sun was setting, Bridget danced that special dance with her father, and Thomas with his mother.

Bridget and Thomas cut their white, three-tiered cake with its dainty and modern blue flower design, and gave a heartfelt speech, thanking all their guests for being there to support and celebrate with them. And everyone continued to dance the night away, with Starlight Orchestra leading the way!
