We were so overjoyed to be filming this very special wedding ceremony for Melissa and Devin! A few years earlier, we had the pleasure of filming the wedding of Melissa’s sister, Tiffany, and her husband Jeffrey, and we were looking forward so much to seeing this wonderful family once again, as well as to our first wedding of the very delayed 2020 wedding season. It was fantastic to work with Melissa and Devin and their September wedding ceremony day was absolutely perfect!
Melissa and Devin met over ten years ago when they were just teens! Mutual friends brought them together at a holiday skating show and the two have been inseparable since then. Nothing was going to keep them from being married on their chosen wedding day and we were so thankful that they allowed us to share in their celebration.
The weather this day honestly couldn’t have been any more refreshing as Melissa and Devin started their day in separate suites down the shore in Long Branch, New Jersey at Wave Resort. Devin, his best man, groomsmen and Melissa and Devin’s cute dog, Nala, relaxed and had fun for a bit, then the guys dressed into their classic black tuxedos. Before heading to the church, Devin was sure to thank his party with a heartfelt toast.
We especially loved filming Melissa and Devin’s sweet card exchange as they got ready for the day. Devin expressed to Melissa that over the last decade, she’s become his best friend and the love of his life. And Melissa echoed his words, saying she can’t wait to see what life has to offer them.
As they continued to prepare for the day’s events, Melissa and her bridal party wore pretty silk robes and had their hair and makeup finished at the hotel by the team at Lock & Shade Salon. Then, the girls dressed into their lovely matching sage gray-green dresses and Melissa prepared to put on her gown. They all carried beautiful lush, ivory floral bouquets, Melissa’s simply overflowing with blooms and delightful greenery in that soft gray-green color from Desiree Dean Designs.
Then, Melissa’s mother helped her put on her beautiful wedding gown. Wow, Melissa was such a gorgeous bride! She chose an amazing Provonias dress with thin straps, a princess silhouette and an all-over floral lace with just the perfect amount of sparkle in the beading. She wore her hair in an updo and accessorized with a delicate pearl floral headband. And in the back of her hair was fastened an amazing cathedral veil. Absolutely stunning!
Once everyone was dressed and ready to go, we all headed to St. Paul Parish in Princeton, New Jersey for their ceremony. The expansive parish was dressed up with impressive white floral arrangements flanking the altar. Devin couldn’t contain his excitement and his tears as he saw his bride for the first time that day walking down the aisle to meet him. Their officiant performed their wedding Mass and led Melissa and Devin in reciting their traditional vows to each other. After the rings were exchanged, their first kiss as ‘husband and wife’ made it official!
Following their ceremony and photos at the church, we walked the short distance over to the gorgeous campus of Princeton University for another enjoyable formal photo session. It was fantastic to work with Two Suits and a Dress again as they took photos of the happy couple celebrating with their family and bridal party amongst the University’s historic buildings and shaded paths.
What a wonderful wedding celebration this was! And what an honor and pleasure it was to film Melissa and Devin’s special day. We wish them a lifetime of love and all the happiness in the world!
