We were so excited to read recently that another favorite statement-making gown accessory is going to be found on many a wedding dress coming soon!
Along with asymmetrical skirts and necklines, polka dot patterns and 3D appliqués, in 2019, we expect to see more statement bows! According to Martha Stewart Weddings: “This season, watch out for larger-than-life-bows that act as trains, sweet loops that make the prettiest straps, and metal versions that (literally) tie entire looks together.” In addition to these eye-catchers, wedding professionals say delicate little bows attached to bodices and waistlines will also be prominent at 2019 weddings. So beautiful bows will be in the spotlight in all shapes and sizes this year!
Bows are most often incorporated into romantic ribbons, sashes or belts that tie around the waist, however many more designers this year are attaching smaller bows to sleeves, fastening a large bow to the back of the gown for added drama or crafting a bow that drapes to form a breathtaking train. Depending on the style of bow – whether it be refined, graceful or absolutely bodacious – a bow is a classic wedding dress accessory that adds either a bit of whimsy or an extra dash of romance.
Picking out a wedding dress for your own wedding soon? Be sure to check out just a handful of the beautiful brides we’ve filmed who chose dresses with bonny bows! Lauren’s gorgeous Romona Keveza wedding gown had a dazzling belt tied into a thin bow with long delicate strings in the back. Lis’ mother helped to fasten a lovely mid-sized bow to the sash of her elegant wedding dress. Paige wore a beautiful light champagne sash with sparkling rhinestones in front and a draping bow tied in back. And Mari chose a heavenly A-line silhouetted wedding gown with a large sheer sash tied with a romantic gauzy bow.
