We’ve posted a short article a couple of years ago on UK designer Jenny Packham’s tips for brides shopping for their wedding gown. As you might remember, Jenny Packham is one of the go-to fashion designers in the UK, a favorite of many celebrities and royals such as Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge (Kate Middleton). Well, we’ve found her in the wedding industry spotlight again after she spoke with HuffPostLive recently to give her predictions for the year ahead in wedding fashion and design.
Packham predicts that veils will be very popular and that they will return in very long and romantic designs. This agrees with many others in the world of wedding fashion who’ve stated that cathedral veils will be making a comeback in the year 2015. These are the long, trailing veils that especially spring to mind when you think of royal weddings and grand, highly formal weddings of a bygone era.
She also feels that more form-fitting wedding gowns and gowns with low backs will be abundant this year. The look will be slimmer and sexier than we’ve seen in past years, influenced greatly by celebrities lining the red carpet.
When asked for the top three trends she believes will be rampant this year, Packham predicts: long-sleeves, form-fitting and lace. We’ve seen all three of these trends already gaining popularity in the weddings we’ve filmed in the last couple of years and have posted short articles on their prevalence and their following. Will they be even bigger this year? We’re so excited to see what the 2015 wedding season truly brings!
