Shooting Stars // Kristen + Dominic

Kristen and Dominic were never supposed to date!  You see, Dominic was one of Kristen’s older brother’s friends, and had always been told by her brother that dating any of his friends was forbidden.  So they stayed friendly and kept in touch even when they each began college.  Unfortunately, Kristen was in a serious auto accident during her first year of college and during that time, she and Dominic really reconnected.  On their first official date once Kristen had healed from surgery, they talked for hours lakeside and Kristen saw her first shooting star!  She took that as a clear sign that something special was about to begin.  Dominic knew that night as well that there was true chemistry between them and when they saw that shooting star together, he knew she was meant to be the one for him forever.  Their relationship continued to grow and eight years later, the two were planning their beautiful wedding day!

Kristen and Dominic got ready for their big day at separate residences, Kristen at her parents’ home and Dominic in their own home.  Kristen’s beautiful bridesmaids and maid of honor wore long black gowns for this occasion.  Dominic’s groomsmen wore matching black tuxedos with an eye-catching design on their ties and vests, while the dashing groom wore a standout white vest and bow tie.  Once they were ready to go, the men toasted and celebrated with Dominic before heading to the church.

Before they finished dressing, Kristen and Dominic  exchanged gifts and read aloud the cards that they wrote to express their love and to keep to always remember those exciting moments before the day’s events.  During those preparations, we were also so touched when we heard Kristen’s father, with Kristen’s mother by his side, read the note she wrote for him for this special day and how she expressed her love and thankfulness for his guidance through her life.  And Kristen’s mother along with her maid of honor were there every step of the way to help Kristen get ready for her wedding day and into that gorgeous dress.

Kristen wore a stunning strapless gown covered in delicate crystal beading in a perfect fit and flare silhouette.  She accessorized with sparkling jewelry, including an exquisite, petite headband above her long locks and a long, graceful crystal edged cathedral veil.  She was such a beautiful bride as she came down the stairs at her parents’ home to the cheers of her family and bridal party!

It was now time to travel to St. Francis of Assisi Cathedral for Kristen and Dominic’s ceremony.  Kristen’s proud father walked her down the aisle to meet Dominic, beaming from his first sight of his bride that day.  Kristen carried a gorgeous cascading bouquet in white with accents in magenta.  Their officiant delivered a wonderful message reminding the couple that when they leave the church that day, they will now be sharing one life.  They recited their traditional vows and were pronounced ‘husband and wife’!

Upon Kristen and Dominic’s exit from the church, white doves were released, symbolizing happiness, peace and prosperity.  Kristen is a teacher and we loved the fact that her first grade students were there to watch the ceremony and pose for photos with their favorite teacher on the church steps!

Following Kristen and Dominic’s ceremony, we were thrilled to film alongside one of our favorites, their photographer, Drew Noel for their photo shoot in town.  Everyone had such fun as Drew captured the love and excitement, including a celebration with champagne!

The couple chose the glamorous, Nanina’s in the Park for their amazing reception.  It was decorated so beautifully with tall, cascading floral centerpieces dripping with string crystals and floating candles alongside bright petals by Perla & Company.  The ballroom itself features sparkling multi-tiered chandeliers and an amazing curtain of crystals surrounding the center dance floor.  Violet uplighting washed the walls and ceiling and gave the entire space a warm, romantic glow.

Kristen and Dominic entered the ballroom to an exciting sparkler salute and were met with cheers from their guests! An ethereal mist surrounded them as they danced their first dance together, making it seem as thought they were dancing on clouds.  After touching parent dances, we were treated to such beautifully written and delivered toasts from Kristen’s father, Dominic’s best man and brother and Kristen’s close friend and maid of honor before dinner concluded and that dance floor was opened!  DJ, Austin John from Posh Entertainment was amazing and his energy and music kept that dance floor packed all night!  Everyone had such a blast!

We want to extend our sincerest congratulations and best wishes to Kristen and Dominic.  We loved Kristen’s father’s toast to them and want to simply echo his words in wishing them “health, happiness and may God continue to bless your marriage”.
