The Best in Each Other // Ashley + Greg

Ashley and Greg met just like so many of us do today, online!  Their first date was wonderful, as well as incredibly long… so long in fact, that Ashley’s family kept texting her to make sure everything was okay!  It was, of course, as Ashley told them.  She was just on her last first date ever.

reg took Ashley to Marsh Creek to look at the snow on what was the one and only day it snowed in 2020.   The two walked by the water, enjoyed the fresh snowfall and winter air, and Greg proposed to Ashley by the waterside.  He had a photographer there ready to take those all important photos too!  Afterwards, Ashley and Greg finally went to his mother’s home where they were met with a surprise engagement party!

On the big day, Ashley and her bridal party had their hair and makeup professionally done at Ashley’s home.  But the dress would wait for her arrival at her venue!  Meanwhile, Greg got ready with his groomsmen before heading to the venue as well, excited and ready to see his bride for the first time that day.  And at the venue, Greg opened his love note (that also included a photo of his awesome gift) from Ashley and got his tie on just right!

At their fantastic industrial chic wedding venue, Phoenixville Foundry, we were so happy to film Ashley as she finished getting ready for the big day.  Ashley dressed into her amazing Allison Webb wedding gown, which featured a deep-V neckline, a bodice covered in delicate pearl and crystal beadwork and a beautiful fit-and-flare skirt with breathtaking asymmetrical ruching.  In her relaxed updo, she wore a light, flowing long veil.  Ashley was such a breathtakingly gorgeous bride!

After she was all ready for the day, and opened card and gift (a fantastic Louis Vuitton bag!), Ashley’s father had his first look at his beautiful daughter on her wedding day.  He was so emotional at this moment (and later as he walked Ashley down the stairs and aisle for her ceremony too), which truly touched our hearts!  “So beautiful” was so right.  Then Ashley and Greg shared their own special first look outside on the Phoenix Column bridge.  We loved how Greg complimented Ashley so many times, not able to keep his eyes off her!

We were also so excited to be filming this wedding alongside our friend Mike, owner of the outstanding Morby Photography, and his terrific second shooter, Lora, as the wedding photographer for this wonderful day!  After Mike photographed Ashley and Greg’s touching first look, he captured candid and formal photos of them and their wedding party before the ceremony was set to begin.

Ashley and Greg’s beautiful ceremony was held there at Phoenixville Foundry.  The couple stood in front of a wonderful, modern circular floral arch and recited their traditional vows.  Before long, Greg was kissing his bride and the two were pronounced as ‘husband and wife’!

Following the ceremony, a cocktail hour took place for guests in the Mezzanine.  And during this time, Ashley and Greg snuck out for a quick but amazing photo shoot at the nearby Colonial Theater, where the marquee was even customized to celebrate the happy couple!  Be sure to check out the photos below and all of Mike Morby’s photos on his blog!

Then it was time to head back to Phoenixville Foundry so Ashley and Greg could join their friends and family for the reception.  Matlack Florist and Lilac and Lace Co. did such an amazing job with floral and décor for this beautiful wedding event.  The entire venue looked spectacular.

The couple was announced and entered the expansive ballroom for their first dance.  After everyone was seated, we heard a wonderful welcome speech from Ashley’s parents, filled with both sentimental narrative and funny quips, and the lovely blessing given by Greg’s grandmother.  Then, we were treated to fantastic toasts from Greg’s best man and brother and from Ashley’s maid and matron of honor, Greg’s sister and her sister in law.  After dinner were those sweet parent dances followed by the ceremonial (and so fun!) cake cutting.  And throughout the event, Alexander Clare, a caricaturist from Alexander the Art, also kept guests laughing as he captured their images in those exaggerated drawings!

There were even more extra fun treats as the firepits were opened and s’mores were served, along with soft pretzels from a pretzel truck too!  Dancing, of course, continued well into the evening thanks to the professional DJ services of Sound Factor Entertainment & Events!  We loved the custom-made denim jacket that Ashley wore as she danced the night away.  And to cap off the evening, Ashley and Greg were honored with an exciting sparkler salute from their friends and family.

We were so thrilled to be a part of capturing Ashley and Greg’s amazing wedding day!  They’re such a sweet couple and truly a perfect match for each other.  We wish them all the best as they begin this new chapter together!

The Sunlight of Love // Erin + Zack

In Erin and Zack, we have another delightful couple that went to high school together… however these two were not high school sweethearts (although Erin admits that she did have a little crush on Zack)!  After college, they ran into each other randomly in the city and that’s when their relationship together began.

Zack has always been there for Erin, and more than ever when sadly, Erin lost her father.  And it was important to Zack to include Erin’s father on the day of his marriage proposal and to propose at a place that was very special to her.  On the day after Thanksgiving, Zack took Erin to Valley Forge National Park where some of her father’s ashes were spread because he wanted to pay his respects to him as the holiday season was beginning.  As they walked toward the location that held the most meaning for her, Zack pulled Erin aside and asked her to marry him.  A photographer hiding behind a tree captured the moment as Erin said ‘yes’!

Erin and Zack’s entire wedding event took place in the beautiful country setting of Springton Manor Farm in Glenmoore, Pennsylvania.  Erin’s matron of honor and bridesmaids wore pretty peachy-pink floral robes as they were getting ready in the Manor House that morning.  And after Erin changed out of her lovely white lace robe and into her gown, she found a quiet space to read her moving love letter from Zack, as the two had exchanged beautiful love letters that each had written earlier.

Zack looked terrific as he wore a bright blue suit, standing apart from his handsome groomsmen dressed in their gray suits for this wonderful outdoor wedding event.  And as they finished getting all dolled up and ready, Erin’s bridal party dressed into long, mismatched dresses in various shades of blush and carried such lovely and lush pink and white bouquets from Edgemont Flower Shop.

Erin’s mother helped her put on her beautiful Sarah Seven wedding gown, with a sheer lace deep V bodice, a low V back design and a gorgeous fitted crepe skirt.  She wore her beautiful blond hair up in a loose, wispy ponytail and fastened a long veil to the back for the ceremony.  And together, she and her mother pinned charms and a photograph of Erin’s father onto her bouquet handle.

Ready for their exciting first look, Zack stood on the country road at their venue and waited for his love to walk up and pinch him on the shoulder.  The two were thrilled for sure to see each other for the first time that day, and exchanged sweet kisses before the bridal party arrived via golf cart for their next photo shoot!

We had such a great time filming as the team from Elizabeth Moore Photography took photos of the couple and bridal party.  Everyone had so much fun and the pastoral setting was simply sublime.  Scroll down and take a look at a couple of wonderful photos from the day that Elizabeth posted on her Facebook page!

Erin’s mother walked her down the aisle for the ceremony which was held under a magnificent shade tree on the farm.  It was such a touching, very personalized ceremony with a beautiful message of love.  And at the conclusion, it was official… Erin and Zack were pronounced, ‘husband and wife’!  Their friends and family then saluted the couple with bubbles to celebrate the newest Mr. & Mrs.

Then, Erin and Zack’s reception began under a gorgeous tent on the property.  It was decorated in white, with accents of pink among lush greenery, and had lovely market string lights draped along the tent’s ceiling.  When Erin and Zack arrived, they kicked off the evening with a special first dance together.

Erin’s mother provided a beautiful welcome speech and toast to the couple, and a bit later, we were treated to wonderful toasts from Erin’s matron of honor and from Zack’s best man.  And everyone was so moved when Zack danced with his mother and Erin danced with her brother before that amazing five-tiered cake from The Master’s Baker was cut.

The party continued well into the evening as their DJ from Lash Entertainment totally rocked the house and kept guests on that dance floor!  This was such a fantastic wedding event and we were so honored and thrilled to be a part of capturing it for the sweet newlyweds.  Congratulations to Erin and Zack!  And to quote a part from one of their toasts that evening, “may your joys be as bright as the morning and your years of happiness, as numerous as the stars in the heavens”.

Country Roads // Jackie + Dallas

Jackie and Dallas met at a country music performance in Camden when each had come to the concert with mutual friends.  They hit it off very quickly and had so much fun during the concert that they decided to exchange numbers.  Over the next year, they talked on the phone, texted and even sent letters to help bridge the distance while he went to college in West Virginia and she in New Jersey.  After about two years and a few visits with each other, they both knew that they were simply meant to be together.  And it was literally sweet how Dallas asked her to be his one and only with a homemade cake!

Well, Jackie loves sea turtles and had mentioned only once to Dallas that it would be her dream to be proposed to on a trip where they were watching baby turtles hatch on a beach.  Dallas was determined to make her dream come true!  Secretly, he tracked all turtle nests in Charleston, SC and around the time they were meant to hatch, he planned for them to take a weekend trip to Charleston and neighboring Isle of Palms.  It happened to also be Dallas’s birthday so Jackie didn’t suspect a thing!  The couple checked on the turtle nests during the day, and then in the evening, they took another walk on the beach to check for activity.  Even though the moon was full and the conditions were perfect for hatching, those babies unfortunately didn’t arrive that night.  Dallas’s next plan was to go to a plantation, but Jackie was enjoying the beach so much that when they finally left, it was really too late to go there.  So ‘Plan C’ was to take her to dinner and a walk along the waterfront in Charleston.  And there, he asked Jackie to be his wife along the scenic waterfront!  Even though there weren’t any baby turtles that night, Jackie was overjoyed that the love of her life got down on one knee and asked her to spend forever with him.  It couldn’t have been more perfect.

On the morning of their wedding day, the two got ready in separate suites at the Courtyard by Marriott in Springfield, PA.  Jackie’s sister and cousin had us film their weddings and it was so wonderful to see and work with her family again!

Both sides had so much fun as they got ready for the day!  Jackie and her bridal party danced, sang and laughed while their hair and makeup was done at the hotel.  Dallas and his groomsmen seemed so relaxed as they dressed into their navy blue suits… sharp ensembles complete with blue suspenders and West Virginia University argyle socks!  Jackie’s bridesmaids wore watercolor dusty rose colored gowns and looked so beautiful!  And those luscious pastel flower bouquets from Matlack Florist were incredible.

With assistance from her mother and sister, it was then time for Jackie to put on her amazing wedding gown!  She looked absolutely stunning in her dress, which featured a gorgeous illusion halter neckline covered in lace, delicate buttons down the back and a subtle fit and flare silhouette.  So beautiful!

Once they were all dressed and ready to go, the bridal party traveled to St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Camden for the marriage ceremony.  Father Tomy Thomas celebrated a traditional wedding Mass and Jackie and Dallas recited their vows before their family and friends.  At the conclusion, the two shared their first kiss as husband and wife!

It was fantastic to be working with the team at Magdalena Studios on this wedding day, and filming alongside them while Jackie, Dallas and their bridal party had their photo shoots was a dream.  Formal family photos took place at the church, then the bridal party continued with photos at their beautiful reception venue.

Jackie and Dallas’s reception was held at The Old Mill in Rose Valley, PA, with its authentic craftsman details and rustic charm.  The grounds give the impression of a beautiful secret garden nestled in the woods along Ridley Creek, with old stone walls hiding among the lush ferns and trailing vines.  The two couldn’t have picked a more gorgeous setting for their early summer wedding!

And their reception was so wonderful!  Jackie and Dallas entered the room (with such enthusiasm!) and danced their first dance together, with lovely parent dances following.  We loved the toasts given by Jackie’s sister (her matron of honor) and by Dallas’s brother who served as his best man.  They were so emotional, filled with poems, blessings and love, and it was so, so hard not to cry while listening to them!

After dinner, guests danced and limboed the night away, and even paid tribute to Dallas’s college, WVU, with a dance to John Denver’s Country Roads!  Their expert DJ from JSV Entertainment was fabulous!  Jackie and Dallas cut their amazing ‘birch bark’ cake from The Master’s Baker and later, all their guests crowded the dance floor for a rousing rendition of Sweet Caroline!  The whole evening was so much fun!

Jackie mentioned that the most wonderful thing about their wedding was the overwhelming feeling of love and support they received from their family and friends.  Since they live out of state, they don’t have the opportunity to see everyone as much as they’d like and it was so special to be with everyone that day.  And a perfect day it was! Congratulations to Jackie and Dallas!

Love Grows Everyday // Shannon + Bryan

Derby Day holds a special significance to Shannon and Bryan. It’s the day that Bryan proposed to Shannon and the day, one year later, that the two were married!  Bryan’s proposal was well planned.  He popped the question as the two strolled along the creek adjacent to the Liberty Tap Room, a cozy and fun restaurant/bar where they had just enjoyed dinner.  This was also the place where the two had their first encounter.  After Shannon said “yes”, the restaurant guests who had been watching out the window all clapped and cheered!

Their beautiful wedding took place at the historic Phoenixville Foundry in Phoenixville, PA.  This gorgeous venue is one of the oldest structures in the city.  It all began with their ceremony which was held outdoors on this perfect late afternoon.  Shannon and Bryan wrote and read their heartwarming personal vows to each other.  It was obvious that they were crafted lovingly from the heart.  We know that everyone in attendance was deeply moved.

Shannon was so beautiful in her mermaid silhouette wedding gown.  It featured dazzling beading embroidered throughout her gown.  We also loved her veil which she had fastened to the back of her lovely, relaxed updo.

Soft pastel shades of lavender, lilac and pink were the theme colors for this traditional wedding and were reflected wonderfully in the gorgeous flowers which flanked the altar and lined the aisle.  As always, Carl Alan Floral Designs did a magnificent job with the décor for this entire event.  Shannon’s beautiful bridesmaids also coordinated wonderfully wearing long, matching lilac gowns.

The weather was splendid, so we were thrilled to be able to film the couple and wedding party outdoors while Leslie Gilbert Photography took formal photos.  Be sure to check out some of her photos from the day on her blog!  The perfectly landscaped gardens provided a delightful backdrop for photos and video.  The couple also got a private moment to stroll along the Truss bridge on this, one of the most special days of their lives.

The reception then began inside the Phoenixville Foundry’s ballroom.  Inside, the industrial theme celebrates the rich history of the steel foundry, featuring exposed steel trusses along 60 foot high ceilings and clerestory windows.  Shannon and Bryan’s reception was filled with such fun moments.  And The FM Band definitely rocked the house! We saw some amazing dance moves on the dance floor, which remained packed that evening!

This was one amazing wedding from the start, right to the end.  We were so happy to celebrate this day with Shannon and Bryan!  Congratulations to the both of them!
