No Work and All Play… // Groom Prep on the Wedding Morning

the lucy wedding photo  groom prep cord3films

We love, love, love filming groom prep!  Every time we have the opportunity to film the groom and his groomsmen getting ready for the big day, it amounts to a lot of laughter and a ton of fun for everyone!  The guys are lucky because they usually have more time than the bride and her party to kick back and relax on the wedding day before the ceremony, photo sessions and festivities begin. (Nevertheless, we’re glad most brides make a little time to include a stress-reducer too!)

Farm Fresh // Farm-to-Table Weddings

ryland inn wedding photos  farm to table weddings photo

Farm-to-table, also known as farm-to-fork, is essentially a consumer practice that promotes the utilization of foods that complement seasonal availability and on purchasing from local and family farms that greater employ environmentally friendly practices.  It also includes promoting local community and school gardens.

Farm-to-table cuisine is based on a movement that actually started decades ago to counter the overly-processed and imported foods that were taking over the market.  Restaurants like Chez Panisse in Berkeley, California set the standards for locally and sustainably-sourced, seasonal and organic ingredients.  Other select restaurants followed suit, however within the last ten years, the farm-to-table movement has seen a brand new and robust following.

The Great Outdoors // Outside Wedding Ceremonies

Outdoor wedding ceremonies are inherently romantic and fresh as they are inspired by nature itself.

With proper planning, they’re quite perfect for spring and fall wedding events.  And they can also be beautiful for summer weddings, provided that the ceremony isn’t too long and there are options for shade and refreshments, especially in places where summers can be brutally hot and humid.  It’s simply awe-inspiring to say your vows with the open sky overhead, birds chirping in the distant trees and the smell of fresh cut grass or wildflowers all around!  And of course, wedding photos and video taken in lovely outdoor settings can be simply astonishing.

Keep in mind, if you choose to have an outdoor ceremony, you must Read more

Pretty in Pink // The Color Pink in Weddings

As we gear up for the new wedding season (it’s already on our doorstop!), we’re taking a moment to look back.  We had reported that soft, romantic color hues would be popular for weddings in 2014 back at the end of 2013.  And reflecting back over last year’s weddings, we feel this prediction Read more

the lake house inn wedding images  the lake house inn wedding photo

Happy 1st Anniversary to Stephanie and Brian!  Their gorgeous wedding took place one year ago at the Lake House Inn in Perkasie, PA.  On this beautiful spring day, their wedding ceremony was performed outdoors facing the serene lake.  Their wedding theme color was a soft pink, evident throughout the event in lush, light pink florals and in the beautiful bridesmaids’ gowns as well.  Stephanie was so stunning in her exquisite mermaid silhouetted wedding gown with lovely gathering and beading on the skirt.  Everyone had a wonderful time dancing the night away at this fun, delightful wedding event.  Happy Anniversary!

Why is it that the guys seem to have more time on the wedding day to kick back and relax before the festivities begin?  Well, we know that the bridal party usually has more to do to get ready for the big day than their male counterparts! Spring Romance // Stephanie + Brian

After their first meeting several years ago, the time had finally come for Stephanie and Brian to tie the knot!  And they certainly picked a lovely day to be married.  With the winter weather lingering so far into spring this year, nature surprised us and cooperated so nicely on this perfectly warm and sunny April day!

Stephanie and Brian’s charming wedding event took place at the Lake House Inn in Perkasie, Pennsylvania.  The groomsmen were able to take in a round of pool before getting into their black tuxedos for the afternoon wedding.  They looked very handsome in their black ties, while Brian stood apart in his white tie.  And Stephanie’s bridesmaids were so beautiful in their matching blush gowns…in perfect harmony with the couple’s blush and champagne theme colors.

Stephanie looked absolutely beautiful in her mermaid style wedding gown.  It was strapless and had gorgeous delicate beading embroidered down to the skirt.  You could feel Brian’s anticipation as he waited to see Stephanie for the first time.  The two were so excited for the day’s events!  They are such a warm, friendly and fun couple.  We loved every minute of our time filming them!

With the weather being so agreeable, many of the day’s events were able to commence outdoors.  The ceremony took place facing the serene lake at the Lake House Inn.  We were able to film the wedding party in front of the venue, while Kevin York took photographs.  Inside at the reception, Buttercup (by Jeffrey A. Miller Catering) did an amazing job filling the venue with florals, mainly blush and ivory roses to complement the theme colors.  Even the delicious cake had gorgeous pale pink roses to match!

Lovesick Inc. provided the evening’s entertainment and they definitely did not disappoint.  The guests had a great time dancing the night away and celebrating the love that Stephanie and Brian share.

As Stephanie’s maid of honor said so eloquently at the reception, “True love gives life real meaning.”  And she couldn’t be more right about that.  Congratulations to Stephanie and Brian.  May your lives be filled with love and joy!

Happy 1st Anniversary! // Christine + Matthew

Congratulations to Christine and Matthew on their one year anniversary! The beautiful grounds of The Lake House Inn set the stage for this romantic outdoor wedding.  Christine and Matthew, also known as Bubba, were such a joy to film.  Their calm and yet joyful demeanor just radiated a confidence in their love for each other.  The wedding had a quintessential summer feel, with Christine in a light, billowed wedding gown and hints of peach in the color palette.  We just enjoyed this wedding so much and were honored to be a part of it.  Happy Anniversary, Christine and Bubba!

The Perfect Cover Up // Bridal Robes

Getting all “dolled” up for your big day is something that is very important.  A huge part of telling your unique story is the lead up to getting into your wedding dress.  This is a moment you will want captured in your photos and video.

However, you also want to feel comfortable and be modest while getting into your dress.  Purchasing a robe will help make that moment even more special.  Also, matching or coordinating robes make great bridesmaids’ gifts!

Check out the lovely bridal party all in matching flowered robes getting ready for Meredith and Peter’s big moment here.  Christine’s bridesmaids shook it up by wearing coordinating robes in different prints as they prepared for Christine and Matt’s wedding day!  And Laura’s bridal party received lavender robes with their names embroidered on the morning of her wedding to Marc.  Don’t they all look fantastic on video?
