Pure and Simple // Bridal Updos

tendenza wedding photo  madison-hotel-wedding-images

Once again, today’s weddings are dictating that many times, less is more!

This year, wedding experts and stylists are noting that for bridal hairstyles, simple, polished updos are favored over overly-styled and slick updos and are also up slightly over hair worn down.  And we’re actually finding this statement to be pretty accurate with the brides we’ve been filming!

So many women wear their hair down or in a simple ponytail on most days. But their wedding day is one of the most special occasions in their life! It’s one day that begs for a fancier style, something extra special and out of the ordinary.  However, today’s brides still want to feel like themselves, just the best version of that.  The perfect way to marry these two notions is to choose a memorable updo up but to keep it simple and effortless… at least in appearance!

…While the Iron is Hot // Industrial Chic Weddings

green building industrial ceremony

We know that not every bride is looking for a rustic wedding.  And glitzy, sparkling, Gatsby-esque formal décor doesn’t fit every couple’s wedding style either.  Many couples want a wedding with a more hip, industrial vibe.  A former warehouse with minimal ornamentation is right up their alley, sometimes quite literally!  And of course, industrial wedding events are every bit as dramatic and as beautiful as weddings in more traditional settings.

What does an industrial chic wedding look like?  Well, some common elements of these Read more

Happy 1st Anniversary to Casie and Eric!  We absolutely loved being a part of their spectacular wedding event at The Green Building in Brooklyn, NY.   We’ll never forget filming them on the streets of Soho in NYC, including catching an impromptu serenade by talented performers!  Filled with wonderful Jewish traditions, their wedding was a beautiful celebration of two amazingly sweet people. Happy Anniversary!

Neat as a Pin // Bridal Hair Brooches

tendenza wedding photos    nautical wedding image

Always a beautiful bridal accessory, the bridal hair brooch quickly jumped in popularity during the last year! Many attribute this giant leap to the extensive coverage of actress Sophia Vergara’s wedding last November, where her sparkly and romantic diamond encrusted hair brooch in her long locks received a lot of attention!

A bridal hair brooch, simply put, is a Read more

A Vision of Love // Casie + Eric

Casie and Eric met each other at a pregame party at a friend’s house.  Eric noticed her right away and while he was devising the perfect plan to introduce himself and to get to know her, she left because it was so crowded.  A few weeks later, they met at another pregame party and this time, Eric was able to actually speak with Casie!  He asked her out on a date a couple of days later and Casie said ‘yes’!  They simply clicked after that.  One year later, they were signing an apartment lease together and less than a year later, Eric asked Casie to marry him.  Again, she said, ‘yes’!

Eric’s proposal was so special and so thoughtful.  They went to brunch at their favorite restaurant for Israeli breakfast, 12 Chairs Cafe.  When they were finished eating, Eric asked the waitress for the dessert menu, which was very unusual for him.  The “dessert menu” was actually a timeline of their relationship that Eric had made and brought to the restaurant.  He then got down on one knee and asked Casie to marry him, while a photographer Eric had hired sitting at a nearby table captured the moment to treasure forever.

That brings us to this wonderful wedding day, the biggest one to add to their timeline to date!  Casie and Eric both got ready for the day in Manhattan: Casie and her bridal party at a cousin’s apartment and Eric and his groomsmen right there at their own apartment.  His groomsmen all wore dark suits and gray ties while Eric stood apart in his classic black tux.  They all looked so handsome.  And Casie’s beautiful bridesmaids wore long dresses, each slightly different.

Casie looked absolutely amazing!  Her strapless wedding gown featured delicate lace and beading and a soft, trumpet silhouette.  She wore her hair down and to the side for the ceremony, with a gorgeous long veil (she would later have her hair up for the reception).  Lovely Jimmy Choo shoes completed her gorgeous look!

We loved witnessing Casie’s father getting his first look at his beautiful daughter!  He was simply beside himself with joy!  And before the ceremony, Casie and Eric also shared a special ‘first look’ on the bustling streets of Soho, their beloved New York neighborhood.  It was so touching to see their sincere love and excitement!  Afterwards, we traveled with them to several places around the ‘big apple’ for their photo session with Alison Conklin Photography.  Alison and her husband, Geoff, make the perfect team and are always so terrific to work with.  Their work is also so amazing… take a look at four photos from the wedding below!

Casie and Eric’s ceremony and reception took place at The Green Building in Brooklyn, NY.  This venue is perfect for an industrial chic wedding event, with its incredible high ceilings, exposed brick and glamorous multi-tiered chandeliers.  Mimosa Floral Design Studio provided lovely flowers in modern clear vases for this event.  The entire venue glowed under soft, romantic light.

Casie and Eric had a wonderful, traditional Jewish wedding ceremony under a breathtaking chuppah overflowing with large white roses and greenery.  The two recited such fabulous, personally written promises (such as trying to stay up late for tv shows and remembering to pick up the future kids!) and spoke their traditional vows.  Finally, Eric broke the glass and made their marriage official!

The dance floor was consistently packed at their joyous, cocktail-style reception party!  Hank Lane Music provided the dance band that helped to keep the party rolling.  This was one of the most crowded dance floors we’ve seen!  You could really tell that everyone was having such a blast dancing the night away!  Casie and Eric had such a beautiful and memorable wedding event and we were so thrilled to be a part of it.

Congratulations to Casie and Eric!  We wish you both all the love and happiness in the world!
