We were so happy when we opened an email one morning from Allie checking to see if we were available for her wedding date. We had filmed the weddings of two of her cousins, Cecilia and Adrianna, in recent years and were overjoyed that she reached out to us too! It was so fantastic to be working with Allie and Michael and to be seeing and celebrating with this wonderful family again!
Allie and Michael met through an online dating app and their relationship was truly meant to be, as it was Allie’s first, last and only date with the site! The two had an amazing first date where they sat and talked for five hours. By their second date, they knew they had found the one they’d be with forever.
Michael decided to pop the question when their first anniversary together was approaching. He arranged for an intimate dinner at a private wine cellar, their dinner table covered in rose petals and romantic candles. Allie suspected that he would propose when dessert was served but alas, the only platter to arrive was the dessert. It wasn’t long though before the waiter came back with another platter, this time with the ring! Allie tells us that she can only remember crying after that!
Allie and Michael’s wedding was held in early November… and the fall foliage colors, just barely past their peak, were still so breathtaking. What a beautiful backdrop to a perfect wedding day.
The bride and groom each got ready in separate homes, just minutes away from each other. During their morning preparations, Allie and Michael exchanged gifts and cards that they had written for each other. We absolutely adore the moment when our couples read the love notes that were written from the heart, expressing their love for each other and the excitement for the day. Allie and Michael’s cards were no exception, as each were so lovely and contained such beautiful sentiments. It was so hard to keep from being emotional, especially as Allie read her love note while holding back her own tears!
With help from her mother and her matron of honor (her sister-in-law), Allie then got dressed into her gorgeous wedding gown from Allure Bridals. It had a beautiful off the shoulder, sweetheart neckline and a lovely ball gown silhouette. Belted at the waistline with a delicate, sparkling belt, her gown also had a subtle shimmer within the gorgeous lace. She looked absolutely radiant! Her delightful white bouquet, with pops of bright autumn orange, was provided by Cherry Hill Flower Barn.
Allie and Michael decided against having a first look before their ceremony, however Allie shared a very special first look moment with her father. Once she was dressed and ready to go, her father was the first to see her as she descended the staircase of their home. You could see the pride and joy written on his face as he saw his beautiful daughter in her gown on this momentous day!
It was now time to head to Allie and Michael’s ceremony location, St. Joseph Church in Hammonton, NJ, just around the corner from where they got ready. When Allie entered the church, Michael saw his bride for the first time on this day and it was impossible for him to hide his emotions. Father Peter Saporito celebrated a beautiful Mass and delivered such a thoughtful, personal message to Allie and Michael. Then the two recited their traditional vows to each other, exchanged rings and Michael was invited to kiss his bride!
After their ceremony, they had a fantastic photo session at Allie’s friend’s home on a gorgeous lake in Hammonton, just a few minutes away from the church. The bridal party definitely had a blast with their candid shots and the magnificent, peaceful setting couldn’t be matched. It was also so wonderful to work with Paolo Ceritano as he took photographs of the couple and bridal party. Be sure to check out his amazing work on his website! Following the lakeside photo shoot, we traveled into the city to film while additional photos were taken at Philadelphia’s City Hall and at their reception venue.
The bridal party traveled together by (party!!) bus to their reception, the glamorous Ballroom at the Ben. This venue, located in the historic Wanamaker Building, was recently refurbished and its ballroom, with its stately columns and violet uplighting, is so classic and elegant. It felt like we were attending a royal wedding! And the tall floral centerpieces in those amazing bright, fall colors were unbelievable!
Allie and Michael descended the grand staircase and danced their first dance together on the ballroom floor. Once guests were seated, we were treated to a wonderful, touching welcome speech from Allie’s father followed by the blessing. Toasts from Allie’s matron of honor and from Michael’s best man were given next, and they were so well-written and effortlessly delivered. We loved how each described their friendship with Allie and Michael with such love and admiration. And once again, the expert professional DJ services of East Coast Event Group’s Tommy Mac didn’t disappoint as Allie and Michael’s friends and family all had so much fun dancing the night away!
This entire wedding day was perfect from start to finish and it truly was a joy to work with Allie and Michael. To echo the words of Michael’s best man, “we wish you infinite years of happiness and love”! Congratulations and best wishes to the newlyweds!
