October began with a beautiful, romantic garden wedding at The Horticulture Center at Fairmount Park! Mariel and Steve chose this venue for both their ceremony and reception, a perfect choice for an all-in-one wedding event. And this wedding was certainly perfect in itself!
Mariel and Steve got ready for the day at Hotel Monaco and we started filming as Mariel’s hair and makeup was in its final stages by the team at Aleksandra Ambrozy. The girls made sure to take time out before getting dressed to pose for photos all together and have a blast together! We also always love it when our brides and grooms take a moment to read love notes that each has penned for the other, and we were so happy that Mariel and Steve chose to do this on their wedding day. They were so beautifully written and so full of excitement and anticipation for the day’s upcoming event.
It was then time to get dressed! Mariel’s wedding gown was a gorgeous satiny gown with a subtle trumpet silhouette and a fabulous sheer illusion bodice. It also featured a lovely long train that swept across the aisle during her procession. She accented with a cathedral veil for her ceremony and carried a dramatic bouquet in shades of magenta, pastel pink and white. What a beautiful bride! Her bridesmaids wore long gowns in several neutral shades that also featured mismatched bodices. Steve was a dapper groom in his classic white jacket and black tie tux, standing apart from his groomsmen in their black tuxedos. And check out their black and white socks in those different patterns!
Once Mariel and Steve were dressed and ready, they met across the street from Hotel Monaco at Thomas Jefferson Garden for their exciting first look! We can’t say enough how much we love first looks! They never fail to be overwhelmingly emotional for our brides and grooms, and Mariel and Steve’s was definitely no exception.
Mariel and Steve took a slightly different route for their wedding and decided to have their main photo shoot before their ceremony. The bridal party traveled by trolley to several iconic Philadelphia sites including the First National Bank, Elfreth’s Alley and the Rodin Museum for their fun and creative photo shoot with Lauren Fair Photography.
Their final stop was our wedding destination, The Horticulture Center. Large, lush plant life filled the entire space and a lovely arch stood at the center, overflowing with blooms in the same beautiful shades as the bouquets. Kate Farley Design did a wonderful job with the floral arrangements throughout this event.
The Philadelphia String Quartet began to play as Mariel and Steve’s ceremony began. The two shared such beautiful, personal vows and promised to learn and to grow with each other, confide and trust each other and above all, love each other.
After the ceremony concluded, we remained at The Horticulture Center for their reception. This elegant wedding was set up with classic chiavari chairs, lavish floral arrangements and candlelight. Garland-wrapped market string lights were strung across the ceiling within the lush florals and abundant greenery of the garden center. The atmosphere was so romantic and delightful. And we can’t forget to mention Grandma’s delicious cookies that were served as a special treat!
Mariel and Steve were announced to everyone’s cheers and danced their first dance together as husband and wife. Afterwards, the party kicked off and the couple’s friends and family had such an awesome time on the dance floor… and you could tell that Elan Artists’ Sound House also had a ton of fun as they entertained everyone with their high energy performance!
Mariel and Steve’s wedding was a wonderful celebration of the love they share and we were so thrilled to capture the event on film for them. Congratulations to the happy couple!
