Even though Paige and Patrick grew up about 15 minutes apart in the Pennsylvania suburbs of Philadelphia, and even attended high schools that were just down the street from each other, the two met for the first time at a Wawa in Avalon, NJ! Pat was on his way home from work and Paige was with a group of friends coming home from a party. One of her friends knew Pat and introduced them, excited that he and Paige would also soon be attending the same college in the fall. That first night there at college, Paige invited Pat and his friends to a party that she and her roommate were attending, and the two have been inseparable since!
Before too long, Pat knew he would be proposing to Paige… and the big event would need to take place in Avalon of course! Paige’s family rents a beach home there each summer and Pat had invited their friends and his family for a BBQ one day during the week of the 4th of July holiday. He had planned to propose to Paige as they rode their bikes to “their spot” at the jetty where the bay and ocean meet before the BBQ at 4:30pm, but Paige’s 1 1/2 year old niece and 3 year old nephew had other ideas! On the morning of the BBQ, the toddlers woke Paige and Pat up very early, before anyone else was awake, and begged them to take them to the park. After they played there for a while that early morning, Pat took Paige’s nephew to see the surfers while Paige and her niece sat under a gazebo on the boardwalk. A few minutes later, her nephew ran up to her with the ring box and said, “Aunt Paige, will you marry Pat?”! Paige was completely shocked and said “yes” of course! It would be so wonderful to have her nephew be the ring bearer once again on their wedding day!
Paige and Patrick would be celebrating another one of the most important moments of their life in Avalon as they held their wedding at this beautiful shore town in the fall. Paige’s bridal preparations took place there at a beach rental while Pat got ready with his groomsmen at The Reeds at Shelter Haven in nearby Stone Harbor. Privé Salon & Style Bar did a fantastic job with hair and makeup for the big day as the ladies all looked so lovely dressed in their matching floral robes, Paige of course in white! Soon the bridal party would change into coordinating long gauzy gowns for the affair. Meanwhile, the guys had a great time relaxing together with a few beers, then dressed into their matching navy suits. And we just loved Pat’s apropos anchor socks!
The two exchanged endearing love letters to each other and we were so glad they both read theirs aloud for us. Their notes were so sweet! Paige, with help from her mother and sister, then dressed into her amazing wedding gown! It featured a dramatic off the shoulder neckline in a lace overlay which covered her gorgeous gown, belted with a beautiful beaded sash. She was such a breathtaking bride! Her bouquet from Twisted Willow Flowers was filled with lush blooms in delightful shades of blush, peach and white. And she wore a long veil attached to the back of her hair for the ceremony and photos. Once she was all dressed and ready, her father was given the green light to see his stunning daughter for the first time in her wedding gown.
Then it was time for Paige’s first look with Patrick! There at the beach home, Pat opened the doors to her room and got to see his bride for the first time that day. It was such a sweet moment as they hugged, kissed and stared at each other! We were happy to capture the moment for their film as their photographer captured it for their wedding photo collection. And we were especially thrilled to be working once again with one of our favorite photographers, Drew Noel, on this beautiful wedding day! Additional photos were taken on the boardwalk and around the lovely shore town before it was time to head the the church.
Paige and Patrick’s ceremony was held at 25th St. & 1st Ave. at Sacred Heart Church. A beautiful message for the couple and their guests was delivered by Father Stephen J. Baker, then Paige and Pat recited their traditional vows and were pronounced ‘husband and wife’! They exited the church arm in arm to the cheers of their family and friends!
Then it was on to Avalon Yacht Club for their fantastic reception! This beautiful bayfront venue features a spacious club room with amazing water views, exposed whitewashed beams, sunny yellow walls and décor with a distinctly nautical feel. Added to the décor were fall touches as well, like the perfect white, monogramed pumpkins. And their naked cake from Bake Works was so heavenly!
Along with a few fun choreographed spins, Paige and Pat were introduced and danced their first dance together! Afterwards, they shared touching dances with their parents in celebration. As dinner began to be served, Paige’s father provided a very sweet and sentimental welcome speech and toast to the couple, followed by heartfelt toasts from Paige’s sister and maid of honor and Pat’s best man. Then the party continued with The Untouchables Band rocking the house all evening long!
What a wonderful day to be ‘down the shore’ and to be celebrating the love of two sweet people who were simply meant to be all along. Congratulations to Paige and Patrick!
