Perfect Tonight // Marissa + Dan

Marissa and Dan met in Virginia on a very popular dating app!  Marissa had just moved to the state from New Jersey and saw Dan’s profile listing New Jersey as his home.  So she ignored him because she really wanted to meet someone local.  But everyone is so glad Dan was steadfast in his pursuit and let Marissa know he actually lived in Virginia now!  Their first date included a long walk where they found out they had so much in common.  Their relationship and love only grew from there, and these best friends and soulmates were soon planning their beautiful wedding day!

Marissa and Dan’s entire wedding event took place at one of our favorite venues, the impeccable Ryland Inn in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey.  The bold wedding colors were fuchsia, pink and navy, showcased so prominently and beautifully in the wedding florals found throughout the venue.  Jardiniere Fine Flowers once again delighted and impressed us all!  And Marissa’s beautiful bridal party wore bright blue gowns that complimented the color palette perfectly.

In the Kimblewick House bridal suite, Marissa dressed into her amazing wedding gown.  Her dress had a princess silhouette, gorgeous lace detailing throughout the bodice and a lovely overlay.  She accessorized with sparkling chandelier earrings, a gorgeous hair clip and a long, flowing veil with edging that perfectly matched the appliqués on her skirt.  She was absolutely stunning.  And we loved filming the touching moment when Marissa’s father saw her for the first time in her beautiful wedding gown.

Dan and his groomsmen got ready the groom’s cottage onsite, relaxing and playing pool before it was time to put on their formal wear.  Dan dressed into a striking blue tux, and his groomsmen wore classic black tuxedos for this day.  Everyone looked so fantastic, all dressed to the nines!

Then it was time for the official first look outside on the estate at Ryland Inn.  Marissa and Dan were so excited to see each other for the first time on their wedding day and couldn’t hold back the smiles!  Once Dan turned around, they both couldn’t stop complimenting each other, kissing and taking those long looks at each other.  It was so fun to see!

We were also so happy to be there to film the couple’s photo shoot afterwards with our good friend and an amazing photographer, Jeff Tisman and his fantastic team.  The rain held off just long enough for photos, only really spritzing during the ceremony, and even gave us all a fleeting but delightful rainbow! Be sure to check out the proof on his Facebook page!

The mothers of the bride and groom both participated in the wonderful Jewish tradition, the parental plate break, on this very special day. This custom symbolizes the cutting of primary ties between the children and their parents, as well as the fragility and importance of the commitment to the covenant of marriage.  It was so wonderful to see the custom performed, and the joy that it brought everyone.  We continued on to film the signing of the ketubah, the marriage contract, before the marriage ceremony was set to begin.

Laughter was definitely the theme for this day, and as the ceremony began, the excitement and pure joy was still overflowing!  Marissa walked down the aisle on the arm of her parents to stand beside Dan under the gorgeous chuppah, decorated with bright fuchsia and purple flowers.

Their traditional ceremony was filled with beautiful symbolism and included the couple circling each other, the recitation of the seven blessings bestowed and Marissa and Dan lovingly wrapped in the tallit.  And at the end, both the bride and groom participated in the breaking of the glass to celebratory shouts of ‘Mazel Tov’! After their ceremony had concluded, Marissa and Dan exchanged beautifully written, personal vows upstairs in the inn.

Then, Marissa and Dan’s reception commenced in the Grand Ballroom at Ryland Inn.  All eyes were on the couple as they shared a romantic first dance together on the dance floor, followed by those sweet father and daughter and mother and son dances.  And it’s always so fun to film the dance of the hora and feel the elation in the air, literally, as Marissa and Dan were lifted on chairs and their new marriage celebrated by their friends and family!  Marissa’s parents also were lifted in celebration, too!

The blessing was given over the challah, and as dinner was getting ready to be served, we heard beautiful, sentimental speeches from Marissa and Dan’s fathers.  The toasts from Marissa’s sister and brother and from Dan’s brother were absolutely perfect, straight from the heart, thoughtful and so sincere.

Then it was time to dance again!  The Blake Band from Starlight Music totally rocked the house and all the guests had such a fantastic time laughing and dancing the night away.  Marissa and Dan stepped away from the crowd to cut their fantastic cake from Northern Valley Affairs (secretly made of ‘lego’!) and at the end of their celebration, were given an exciting sparkler salute!

We absolutely loved working with this truly delightful couple and with their wonderful family.  Their enthusiasm, joy, laughter and love was undeniably catching!  Best wishes to Marissa and Dan for today and always!

Everlasting Love // Taylor + Matthew

It just goes to show you that you never know when and where you’ll meet the love of your life.  Taylor and Matthew met during gym class while in high school!  The started off as friends but after going together to their Junior Prom, they fell deeply in love and have been together ever since.

Matthew proposed to Taylor on a day he knew she’d not expect it… his birthday!  And he made sure that because they play such an important role in their lives, their family was a part of the surprise.  He told Taylor that he made arrangements for dinner that evening at an exclusive restaurant in Princeton.  So they got ready for their special evening and drove onto campus, meeting a few friends before dinner for a drink.  Then Taylor and Matthew began their walk to the restaurant, stopping at Princeton Gardens on the way.

At the end of a pathway in the gardens was their family standing with balloons that spelled out, “Marry Me?”! Matthew also had one of their favorite songs playing in the background, and a photographer and videographer there to capture everything.  Taylor didn’t say yes though… as she put it, “I said said, ‘Yeah, Yeah!'” through tears.  It was such a sweet, emotional moment.  The next day, they drove up to Boston for the weekend to celebrate their engagement… and Matthew’s birthday, too!

And now the wedding day was finally here!  Taylor and Matthew finished getting ready that morning at the venue where their reception would later take place, the rustic chic Normandy Farm Hotel & Conference Center in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania.  And the couple and their wedding party had such a great time (celebrating with confetti, too!) even in these early morning hours.

Our beautiful bride was sure to have some very sentimental touches added to her wedding day ensemble.  Taylor had her mother and her grandmother’s buttons stitched into the bottom of her wedding dress and she carried her grandmother’s clutch during the day.  And look at her beautiful wedding gown!  Taylor wore an amazing off-the-shoulder (and later strapless) Maggie Sottero A-line silhouetted gown covered in tiny pearls and sparkling beadwork.  Her overskirt had such beautiful beaded lace appliqués and a delicate beaded belt circled her waist.  She was absolutely gorgeous!

Taylor had a special first look with her father once her gown was all fastened and she was ready to go.  He gave his daughter a hug and you could see how much he shared in her happiness on this very special day.

Then, Taylor and Matthew had their first look outside at their venue.  The two kissed, hugged, laughed and cried at the sight of each other!  It was so sweet!

We loved filming Taylor and Matthew’s photo sessions with their wedding party and family!  Jeff Tisman and his team took amazing photos, as always with such an avant-garde, artistic eye.  Be sure to check out some of his fun photos from the dance floor later that night on his Facebook page!

We all left then to make it to the church on time!  Taylor and Matthew’s ceremony took place at St. Catherine of Siena in Horsham.   The two were joined in marriage in a Catholic ceremony and were led in reciting their traditional vows by Rev. Joseph Rymdeika.  After exchanging their rings, they kissed for the very first time as husband and wife!  The happy couple then received a ribbon wand and bubble salute by all their friends and family outside the church!

Then it was time to head back to Normandy Farm for more photos and the reception in the Grand Ballroom.  Twisted Willow Flowers adorned the ballroom with blush and ivory flowers and flickering taper candles in tall hurricane vases, and the reception space looked even more fabulous!

Formal introductions were made and Taylor and Matthew danced their first dance on the ballroom dance floor.  This was followed by Taylor’s dance with her father and Matthew’s dance with his mother.  We always love the formality and tradition of these special dances at the reception, and how they never fail to tug at everyone’s heartstrings.

As guests were seated, we heard toasts from Taylor’s maid of honor, her sister, and from Matthew’s best man.  The couple was so emotional as they listened to their loved ones give personal, beautiful speeches in honor of them and their new marriage.

After dinner, everyone was invited to get out onto the dance floor!  The newlyweds paused to cut and taste that amazing four-tiered wedding cake, then the dancing continued… and the floor stayed packed all evening long.

This super fun group loves to dance to “Paradise by the Dashboard Lights” at weddings so there was no question that this Meatloaf classic would be played during the reception!  Taylor, Matthew and all of their friends and family had a ball dancing as DJ Jeff Gould from SCE Event Group kept the party rocking all night!

This was such a fantastic and fun celebration and simply a beautiful day for a wedding!  We wish Taylor and Matthew all the best as they begin this new and exciting chapter together.

Even Better Together // Rachel + Zachary

Rachel and Zach met in college when they were introduced by one of Rachel’s friends who had known Zach in high school.  As it turned out, Zach lived down the hall from Rachel for two years!

The two dated for about 10 years and talked openly about getting married, even picking out rings for the big day. But no official proposal had been made… Zach had a plan though, of course.  One September evening in 2019, Zach took Rachel and her best friend, who was visiting from Florida, to a nice dinner out.  They dined at the wonderful French bistro, Avenue, in Long Branch NJ, with its fine French inspired cuisine and amazing ocean views.  The trio had such a fantastic evening, and when the waiter was about to bring dessert, Rachel’s friend excused herself (all according to plan).  During that time, Zach got down on one knee and proposed to Rachel, her friend standing right outside the door taking photos!  Rachel immediately said, ‘yes!’ and they celebrated with cake and champagne.  Little did she know, at that moment, Rachel’s parents and sisters were at her house planning a second surprise celebration with more cake and champagne and gifts for the happy couple!  It was such an incredible and truly memorable evening for the couple and their family!

And today, we were celebrating another beautiful, extraordinary day in the lives of Rachel and Zach, their wonderful wedding day at Congregation Magen David in West Deal, New Jersey.

The morning events began at the DoubleTree Hilton hotel in Eatontown, where both Rachel and Zach prepared in separate suites for the big day.  We were there to film as Rachel and her bridal party had their final touches of makeup applied and as Zach dressed into his classic black tux with help from his groomsman.  We especially loved the custom leggings Rachel wore with Zach’s face all over them!  Rachel was able to share such precious moments with her mother during the morning preparation time as well.  The bridesmaids and matrons of honor, Rachel’s sisters, changed out of their matching loungewear and into their long black gowns.  And Rachel also set aside some special time to read her love note and open her gift from Zach before putting on her gorgeous wedding gown.

The elegant dress Rachel chose had a lovely lace illusion neckline and an amazing A-line silhouette, perfectly fitted at her waistline.  Those beautiful lace appliqués continued onto her gown’s sheer illusion back and along her full skirt.  She carried a gorgeous full, white orchid bridal bouquet.  And in the back of her classic, sleek updo, she wore a sparkling hair clip and an elegant long veil.  Rachel was such a beautiful, graceful bride.

Before departing the hotel, Rachel’s father had his first look at his beautiful daughter on her wedding day, and it was so moving to witness.  Then the couple shared their touching first look, followed by a wonderful photo shoot at the hotel.  And we were so happy to get to film these moments, and all of this day’s events, with a fantastic photographer and our friend, Jeff Tisman and his talented second shooter.

After all their loved ones had arrived, a cocktail hour for guests took place at Congregation Magen David.  Zach, their family, friends and the bridal party all mingled, so excited for the events ahead, while Rachel remained in the bride’s chamber with her Attendant.

The ketubah, the marriage contract, was signed with witnesses before the ceremony was set to begin.  Then, Zach veiled his bride.  Two cuties in a little car led the processional and Rachel and Zach’s beautiful, traditional Jewish ceremony was held under the chuppah, overflowing with beautiful, lush florals in watercolor blush and white, before their family and friends.  At the conclusion, Zach participated in the breaking of the glass and kissed his wife to celebratory shouts of, ‘Mazel Tov’!

Rachel and Zach enjoyed some private time alone, as is custom, before entering the reception for the wonderful party to come!  Their reception kicked off in the spacious event space, the Social Hall, all awash in a dramatic lavender glow, with gorgeous white and blush floral arrangements and sparkling candelabras adorning the tables.  Rachel and Zach were introduced and danced a beautiful first dance together.  Then the Hora was danced, celebrating the happy couple and their new marriage!  Guest dancing continued, taking a break as Rachel shared a sweet dance with her father.  Then dinner and toasts were given in honor of the newlyweds.  Rachel’s father welcomed guests and toasted the couple with an incredible speech, reminding the couple that “love isn’t about how much you say ‘I love you’, it’s about what you do everyday to prove it.” And we also heard both funny and thoughtful toasts from Rachel’s sisters and a lovely recorded message from Zach’s best man and brother in California.

EBE Talent’s Rio’s high energy performance and fabulous sound made sure all the guests had a great time celebrating into the wee hours of the morning!   Rachel and Zach cut their cake and the traditional crowning ceremony ended the evening’s events, as Rachel’s parents’ last child was just married!

We were so honored to be there to film as Rachel and Zach became husband and wife on this very special day.  It was wonderful to work with this loving couple and with their family as well.  We congratulate Rachel and Zach and wish them a lifetime filled with lasting joy!

Better Than Dreams // Kate + Michael

Once again, we were so overjoyed to be working with a family with whom we’ve had the pleasure of working before!  And we were also thrilled to be back at one of our favorite venues, The Ashford Estate!

Kate and Mike grew up in neighboring towns but didn’t meet until they found each other online.  They both knew they had found ‘the one’ and Mike began planning his proposal.  He recruited his sister for his secret proposal to Kate by having her tell Kate they were planning a surprise party for Mike’s upcoming birthday.  So Kate invited all their friends and family to surprise him.  Of course, Mike made sure they were there for the real reason… to witness his proposal to Kate and celebrate with them!  After they “surprised” Mike, he thanked them all for coming and asked Kate to marry him!  Kate was so happy to be able to share that moment with their dearest loved ones.

Let’s fast forward to Kate and Mike’s fabulous wedding day at The Ashford Estate!  The Ashford is perfect for an all-in-one wedding event, and Kate and Mike both got ready, held their ceremony and their reception all at this beautiful venue.

Kate prepared for her day in the bridal parlor, having her makeup finalized by Hot Mess Studio before reading Mike’s tender love note for her.  We loved Mike’s message to the love of his life, ending with the sweet “Let’s make today so special!”  We also love it when our grooms get emotional throughout the wedding day and Mike definitely didn’t disappoint!  He found it very hard to hold back tears as he read Kate’s lovely card for him.

Then it was time to finish getting dressed for the wedding!  Kate’s mother and sister helped with those delicate buttons on Kate’s gorgeous wedding dress.  She wore an exquisite satiny gown with a princess silhouette, a deep-V neckline and stunning open-back design.  Her skirt had such beautiful floral embroidery and in the back of her hair, Kate fastened a delightful brooch and a long veil for the ceremony.  And her lovely bouquet from J&M Floral and Event overflowed with lush ivory and burgundy blooms and berries.  Kate truly was such a stunning bride!

Kate and Mike make such a beautiful couple and sincerely, such a perfect match!  Before their ceremony was set to begin, the two shared an exciting first look.  They both giggled the same, laughed and traded sweet kisses after they saw each other for the first time (after Mike wiped away his tears!).  Photos were taken right after their first look and we were so happy to be working with Jeff Tisman Photography again on this very special day.

To prove our theory that the first look never spoils anything, Mike was overwhelmed with emotion once again as Kate walked down the aisle to meet him in the Barn Chapel at the Ashford.  In front of that gorgeous stone fireplace and rustic wood mantel adorned with romantic candles and floral arrangements, the couple recited vows that they wrote for each other in their personalized wedding ceremony.  The ceremony ended with the traditional first kiss and the two were now officially married!

Kate and Mike’s reception then kicked off in the grand ballroom as the newlyweds entered the room to the cheers of all their friends and family!  They danced their effortless first dance together as ‘Mr. and Mrs.’, then Kate’s sister, Kristiann, gave such a wonderful, heartfelt toast to her sister and to her new brother-in-law.  And Mike’s best man, Kevin’s, speech was equally personal and touching.

Dancing resumed again as everyone got in on the action, dancing all night long to the hip sounds of Band of Gold! It was such a fun evening, and one that we won’t soon forget!

Congratulations to the sweet couple, Kate and Mike!  May the new year bring even more love and happiness to you both!

A Love This Real // Nicole + James

Everything about this wedding was truly a dream for us!  Nicole and James truly were such a sweet and gracious couple, plus we had the opportunity to film at their spectacular venue for the first time!

Nicole and James met seven years ago at the hospital in which they both still work to this day.  Nicole was a new hire at the time and the day her instructor introduced her to James, their story together began.  As so many of our couples tell us, Nicole knew James was ‘the one’ when she saw how he interacted with her family, as spending time with family is paramount for both of them… you really can’t place a value on that important connection.

James’ proposal was a family affair as well!  One day, James told Nicole he was going to the gym.  Nicole had plans to go shopping with her sister and mother, but when she pulled into the driveway, there was James’ family and her family, each person holding a balloon that spelled out, “WILL YOU MARRY ME?”!  James stood at the end of the line (in his gym clothes!) with flowers and the ring.  Of course, Nicole said “yes” and everyone celebrated their engagement together afterwards at her family home!

It was the last beautiful summer day before yet another heat wave that Nicole and James said ‘I do’ to a lifetime together.  That morning, Nicole and her bridesmaids got ready at the Hewitt Wellington Hotel, a grand Victorian hotel in the seaside town of Spring Lake, while James and his groomsmen got ready at Nicole’s parents’ beach house.  Nicole wore a gorgeous, intricately beaded strapless gown with an unbelievably beautiful, full ruffle detail in the skirt!  This truly might be one of our favorite wedding dresses yet!  She wore her hair up and fastened with a sparkling brooch and a long, flowing veil.  Twisted Willow Flowers created such exquisite bouquets in white and blush blooms (and later carried this soft, romantic color scheme into their venue in breathtaking, lush floral arrangements).

Before their ceremony, Nicole and James took time out of their morning preparations to read their love notes.  We love it when the couples we film take a moment to read aloud the love letters that they write for each other for the first time on their wedding day, a special moment that they’ll be able to treasure forever in their film.

Then it was time to head to the church where Nicole and James would see each other for the first time on this special day.  As the processional began, we all agreed that the flower girls and ring bearer were beyond cute!  And we loved watching James’ face as he couldn’t take his eyes off his bride as she walked up the aisle to meet him.  They had a traditional ceremony at St. Catharine Church where the Reverend Robert Ianelli spoke about marriage being a call to give all that one has, and in that, each will discover the full gift of oneself to the other.

Following the ceremony, we followed along as photographer extraordinaire, Jeff Tisman, and his terrific assistant photographed the couple and bridal party.  We always love working with Jeff and his crew and to top it off, we know his images will always be creative and dramatic, true works of art.  The bridal party really enjoyed their photo shoot, as did the couple later on when beautiful sunset photos were taken on the dock.

Nicole and James’ reception was held at Clarks Landing Yacht Club in Point Pleasant.  What a fantastic venue, and an exciting new one for us!  This decidedly nautical wedding destination is located right on the Matasquan River and just minutes from the beach.  Jenny Orsini Events expertly coordinated this wedding day with the couple, which was seamless from start to finish.  Nicole and James entered and danced a beautiful choreographed first dance together, followed by touching first dances with their parents.  Afterwards, we heard a beautiful speech from Nicole’s father, as well as such lovely toasts from the maids of honor and the best men.  And James’ grandfather’s speech was also so sincere and so moving.  We really don’t think there was a dry eye in the house after his sweet toast to the man James has become and to the couple.

We’ve seen some rollicking dance floors in our years of filming, but we have to say, the dancing certainly was wild that night! Posh Entertainment provided their DJ services for this event and definitely kept this crowd happy!  A lot of people in their families were meeting for the first time that day and everyone just clicked on the dance floor, something that was very important to Nicole and James.  We understand that their fantastic DJ, Austin John, had to remind everyone the party was over at the end of the evening!

Throughout the day, it was clear to see that Nicole and James are perfect complements to each other and are simply made for each other.  What a fantastic wedding, a beautiful day and a sweet couple.  Our warmest congratulations to Nicole and James!

Forever Starts Today // Jessica + Scott

Jessica and Scott’s first encounter was through a friend’s introduction just before Jessica was set to take a trip to Israel.  Scott, who had already traveled to the beautiful country, talked all evening with Jessica about the upcoming trip, convinced she would have a wonderful time.  And he was absolutely right! Right after she returned home, Scott messaged her to meet.  Again, they talked for hours about the past and the future, and it was during that day each knew they had found the one they would marry.  Almost a year and a half later, friends and family were all gathered to witness, in the words of their officiant, Rabbi Eli Freedman, the day Jessica and Scott “came together to pledge to one another their hearts”.

Jessica and Scott started their day at the Hotel Monaco where each got ready for the big event with help from their attendants.  Before they headed out for their first look, the two exchanged beautifully written love notes to each other.  We couldn’t help but feel their energy as both were truly beaming with excitement!

Then, Jessica put on her wedding gown.  She was such a gorgeous, radiant bride in her amazing fit and flare wedding dress! It featured a beautiful lace overlay and a delightful lace up detail in back.  In her long hair, she wore a sparkling hair band and completed her bridal outfit with a mid-length veil for the ceremony.  Absolutely stunning!

We traveled across the street for their first look in Thomas Jefferson Garden near Independence Hall.  We loved how the bridal party looked on and cheered, still in their pink robes!  We enjoyed filming their full photo shoot by our friend, the incomparable Jeff Tisman and his terrific assistant, not long afterwards at nearby historical sites in the city.

Jessica’s bridesmaids finished getting dressed into their long blush gowns and carried lush, lovely ivory bouquets from Beautiful Blooms that complemented Jessica’s larger bouquet, filled also with pink florals.  It was now time to head to the venue for the ceremony!

Jessica and Scott’s ceremony and reception both were held at the glamorous Atrium at the Curtis Center, with its grand marble columns, beautiful and massive Tiffany mosaic mural and romantic fabric draped walls.  Accompanied by her proud parents, Jessica walked down the aisle that was lined with flower petals and surrounded by fresh floral arrangements. The couple stood before a gorgeous chuppah abounding in white florals and gauzy fabric for their traditional Jewish ceremony.  Scott broke the glass followed by cheers of ‘Mazel Tov’ and he and Jessica were now husband and wife!

Then it was time for the party to begin!  Jessica and Scott made their grand entrance into the light-filled 12-story atrium, once again to the applause of their beloved friends and family, while flower petals rained down in celebration.  Everyone had such a ball dancing the Hora and then continuing to dance the night away with help from the lively horns and tight rhythm section of the dance band, Jellyroll!

What a wonderful wedding event this was!  Congratulations and best wishes to Jessica and Scott, a sweet couple and a truly perfect pair!

Stompin’ at the Savoy: Full Feature // Anne + Andrew

Anne is a self-proclaimed “control freak” and a micro-manager.  Because of this, she said that no one has ever been able to surprise her with anything.  But when things started to get very serious between she and Andrew and an engagement would be forthcoming, she let him know that she only wanted two things in a marriage proposal: that she be surprised and that it be just the two of them present.  Well, despite Anne’s extreme planning skills, Andrew pulled off a perfect surprise proposal! On a road trip to Maine, he tricked her into pulling over in a quiet, remote (and beautiful wildflower-filled lake view) location because he was sure their car had a flat tire.  When he convinced her to get out of the car and see it because it was “really bad”, he got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife.  She definitely was surprised and they definitely were alone on that scenic stretch of road!

On their sunny, warm wedding day, all of Anne’s planning and management skills brought together a perfect event!  Anne was a dazzling bride in her lace covered strapless wedding gown.  Her long veil complemented her dress so wonderfully.  After her hair was styled by Elie Esper Salon and Bridal’s Elie Esper and her makeup professionally applied by George Miguel, she and Andrew shared an exhilarating first look outside before their ceremony commenced.  You could just feel how excited they were with their ceremony just moments away!  We were so happy to be there to capture video of that moment while our good friend, acclaimed photographer, Jeff Tisman, photographed the couple.

Anne and Andrew’s gorgeous wedding ceremony took place at Holy Family Chapel on the campus of The Academy of St. Elizabeth in Morristown, NJ.  Their ceremony was filled with such sentimentality and meaning.  Sadly, Anne had recently lost her father, but his memory was certainly honored and celebrated throughout the day’s events.  Andrew had made a solemn promise to Anne’s father before he passed that he would always take care of her.  To symbolize this commitment, Anne stopped halfway as she walked up the aisle to be met by Andrew who walked her to the altar.  She also included a beautiful dedication to her father in their wedding program.

After the two enjoyed a wonderful bubble salute from their guests outside the church, we traveled to their reception at the Park Savoy Estate in Florham Park, NJ.  This stately venue is rich in history and style.  Built in the Second Empire architectural design, the building began its life as a family mansion.  Over the years, it transformed into a nightclub and a speakeasy before being remodeled into a country club and finally the upscale event venue it is today.

Anne and Andrew added so many personal touches throughout their reception.  Santos Florist decorated the venue with magnificent tall centerpieces filled with massive, lovely pastel flowers.  An interesting ice luge was set up in the bar area, and they had personalized signs displayed, including one announcing their signature drink, the “Sender-tini”!

Anne and Andrew’s first dance was to a very special song, Frankie Valli’s “Who Loves You” in memory of her father.  It was very touching to watch.  We also were extremely moved by the beautiful toasts from Anne’s mother, her maid of honor and Andrew’s best man.  There was hardly a dry eye in the house when Anne’s mother proclaimed the event, “the end of the beginning” as Anne and Andrew now start a new chapter in their lives.

Then, the party kicked off in celebration of the couple, and we witnessed some really terrific dance moves!  New York City Swing provided the evening’s entertainment and they did a fantastic job! Their energy was amazing!  And at the end of the evening, Anne and Andrew’s guests waved sparklers in their honor, a beautiful salute to a sweet couple.

It was an honor to be among those sharing in this special day in their lives. Heartfelt congratulations to Anne and Andrew!

Kipona Aloha // Cynthia + Dan

Cynthia and Dan had a very fun and carefree wedding event and the luau theme they chose for their wedding was a perfect match for their easy-breezy style!  Filled with entertainment and a lovely tropical feel, we absolutely loved this lively wedding event so much!

Their intimate wedding took place outdoors on the premises of the Marquand House, a guest house on the campus of the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, NJ.  The foyer was beautifully decked out in lush greenery and Hawaiian florals in bright oranges and sunny yellows.  Viburnum Designs wholly captured the island colors and flora.  You really felt like you were on the Big Island on that summer afternoon!

Cynthia’s hair and makeup were done by Isabella Argueta that day and she was sure to add a gorgeous tropical flower to Cynthia’s hair.  And Dan sported a vivid Hawaiian shirt for the occasion!  In keeping with the theme, colorful leis were given to each guest in attendance at the wedding.  Many of their guests even got into the spirit and wore their own Hawaiian-inspired attire!  We were also thrilled to be working again with photographer Jeff Tisman.  He captured the day’s events in photos, which included a “first look” with the happy couple.

Cynthia and Dan’s outdoor ceremony was so sweet.  You could really see the love they share and the joy they felt on this special day.  They just couldn’t keep from smiling through the ceremony!

After Cynthia and Dan recited their vows, it was time for the reception to begin.  This entire wedding event was just impeccable!  Kudos to Michele Musci from Sage Field Events for designing the most superb luau wedding!  Guests were treated to beautiful Hawaiian music from Makalina and hot Hawaiian jazz from The Moonlighters that afternoon.   Again, just perfect!

Although the wedding itself was small, an enormous amount of thought went into the design and no minute detail was overlooked.  It was such a fun Male ‘ana!  Congratulations to Cynthia and Dan!

A Hug So Tight // Kristina + Curtis

Kristina and Curtis are simply a match made in heaven.  It all began when Curtis was moving all the way from Florida and wanted to meet people in the NJ area.  Well, he couldn’t have met a more perfect partner when he met Kristina!  As their relationship grew, they both knew they had found “the one” when his place of work wanted to send him back to their site in Florida.  True love won out as he refused their offer in order to stay here with Kristina.

Curtis’ proposal came in the form of a holiday ornament given on Christmas Eve that read, “I asked.  She said YES.”  It was handed to Kristina by her sister while she was giving a toast that evening at a restaurant that was a favorite of their father’s.  Sadly, Kristina had just lost her father before the holidays and with this being a very emotional time, Curtis knew just what would help turn this melancholy evening into a joyous one.  As Curtis proposed, it began to snow and then stopped immediately afterwards.  Kristina has always felt this was her father being there for her at that joyful moment.

Kristina and Curtis were married on the 4th of July!  It was a celebration that was filled with both sentimental moments and fun traditions.  The morning started with a little rain, but then the skies cleared in time for the festivities.  After an emotional “first look”, the two were married outdoors by a pond on the estate at Crystal Springs Resort in Hamburg, NJ.  Emotions were running high once again as Kristina walked down the aisle to meet Curtis.  It was hard for anyone to keep from crying!  As always, Jeff Tisman’s artistry shined bright as he captured incredible photos from the day.  Be sure to check out his blog featuring some of his photos from Kristina and Curtis’ wedding!

Kristina was an absolutely glowing bride!  She wore a gorgeous strapless gown with a sparkling jeweled belt.  Her beautiful bridal party wore bright fuchsia summery dresses while Kristina’s sister, her matron of honor, stood apart in royal blue.  With this being the national holiday that we celebrate the birth of our nation, the day wouldn’t be complete without some patriotic touches as well!  Amazing video and photos were taken with the American flag as a very appropriate backdrop.  And as the happy couple walked back down the aisle, their guests waved red, white and blue ribbons!

Kristina and Curtis’s reception was held at the Grand Cascades Lodge there at Crystal Springs.  The grand ballroom was enhanced and transformed into a cozy, rustic affair with the help of mason jars, candlelight and wildflowers.  Pink Dahlia did a fabulous job with the decor!  Lanterns with a New Orleans flair were placed around the event, giving a nod to Curtis’ family from The Crescent City.

DJ Paul Knox from SCE Event Group was an awesome choice as the entertainment and emcee for the evening!  Kristina and Curtis, said by some to have the same personalities, are both so fun-loving!  They’re definitely not afraid to be a little silly too!  We loved their unbelievable first dance which really set the tone for a whimsical evening full of laughter and cheer!

We absolutely loved celebrating this unforgettable wedding event!  Congratulations to Kristina and Curtis, a perfect match!
