On May 10th, Alicyn and Matt returned to the place they first met to celebrate their love and join together in marriage. The two met while in college at Loyola University and have been together ever since… that’s 8 1/2 years or 3,130 days… but who’s counting?
We absolutely fell in love with Alicyn’s strapless A-Line wedding gown, complete with a lace overlay which was removed, along with her veil, for the reception. And look at that long veil trimmed in lace! Alicyn’s ensemble included gorgeous belts with pearls and jewels (one for the ceremony and one for the reception) that Alicyn’s mother lovingly made, plus dark contrasting shoes. Matt wore a black tux and was so handsome with a white floral boutonnière in his lapel. With dashing groomsmen sporting matching tuxes and Alicyn’s charming bridal party in a sophisticated shade of gray, the wedding party was certainly dressed to the nines.
Alicyn gave her father an embroidered handkerchief with a beautiful sentiment reminding him that even though he is giving her away, she will always be his little girl. It was such a touching memento. We just love having the opportunity to capture those special moments.
Alicyn and Matt’s ceremony was held at Loyola University Maryland’s Alumni Memorial Chapel. Once again, Alicyn’s mother’s masterful sewing skills were displayed in the handcrafted ring bearer pillow. That will definitely be a treasured keepsake for Alicyn! Afterwards, we strolled around Loyola University and captured wonderful footage of the bride and groom at their alma mater. Meghan Boyer was a pleasure to work with while she took photographs of the bride and groom.
Their reception took place at Hillendale Country Club in Phoenix, Maryland. The setting of this venue is so peaceful as it overlooks the rolling hills of the green golf course. DaVinci Florist filled Hillendale’s Grand Ballroom with lush white and ivory roses. The abundant glowing candles served to heighten the romance. To add another personal touch, in tribute to Matt’s love of golf, they had their long reception tables named after golf courses.
The reception continued with enjoyable family traditions. Alicyn and Matt participated in a traditional Polish Apron Dance. A family member with an apron collecting gifts accompanied Alicyn while she danced with their guests, with Matt offering his wallet at the end. It was so fun! Entertainment Exchange’s Nightsong kept the lively party going with their upbeat sound. It was such a delightful evening filled with dancing and laughter.
On the day they were married, it had been 3,130 days since Alicyn and Matt were together as a couple. With the strength of their love, we know countless days will be added to that number. Congratulations to a wonderful couple!
